OromisTale
(sorry bad english, I am italian). This is my problem: I have lot of strutter because my radeon hd 4850 with 512 mb ddr3 can't run oblivion, wich after I installed some mods now requires up to 1000 mb of vram. I saw this trought the console. I have qtp3 redimized, detailed terrain and distant land 2048X2048. Only this. It appears insane that these 3 mods requires up to 1000 mb ! what can I do? Hickory
An HD 4850 is never going to run Oblivion smoothly with QTP3 installed. I have an HD 4870 and I cannot run QTP3 (even redimized) without major lag. As an alternative, I use Bomret's Detailed Normal Maps for Vanilla, Really Textured Normal Maps and Vibrant Textures, installed in that order.. It ran the game fine with QTP3, 4xaa and 16xaf. I also had a launch 4850 for awhile which maxed the game fine with QTP3; the limiting factor in Oblivion is how well it takes advantage of your CPU for anyone with a decent rig. He only has 512mb of VRAM but that is more than adequate for QTP3. @tc: Drop the distant land mods. You only have 512mb of VRAM...if you want LODs that match Qarl's, use this instead. I'd recommend just grabbing the 512's, though you might be able to pull the 1024's.
