Somedude
I can't seem to do any damage to him with hand to hand combat. I tried to boost my strength but to no avail. Furthermore he doesn't fight back when I hit him. How do I make him go away, without using my sword? I had a similar problem in Tribunal with a drunk, but I was able to resolve the situation by talking with the guy.
cmac
Well, unlike the bouncer quest, you really do have to punch him unconscious. As Falco suggests, go back the the mainland and get a spell of fortify hand to hand. Otherwise, you can punch him all day and nothing will happen. Boosting your Strength only helps in melee attacks. In h2h it will do nothing. By the way...***** :!: SPOILER :!: ***** If you hit with him with your sword, and kill him, he does not actually die. He just explodes in a fiery ball and disappears. If you choose the Dark Side of the Raven Rock quests, he will appear later, and you will have to kill him.

But I punched him so long he got tired of it and he said he'd leave. :D my hand to hand skill is 25 now ....it was around 5, 10-15 minutes ago! :D

Pikeman85
Put on the boots of blinding speed. H2H is based on speed, so this REALLY helps you hit him, even at lower skill levels.
cmac
Hand to Hand is based on Speed. This is only its governing attribute. That means, when you level up H2H, and then your character levels up, Speed can be upped more than one level. The PC's current Speed, enhanced by the Boots or no, has no effect on the effectiveness of H2H attacks.
