I think that The Witcher hasn´t really 16 different endings, the best is the 32 different stories

There is also Sile, don't forget that. Letting her live or watching her go boom, that makes it 64.

And you've missed quite a few that have political impact.

 

- "Save Anais" is actually two separate options, both of which leave the world in a different state and change Roche's future. (Anais to Radovid, Anais to Natalis). If you imported from TW1, it's actually three options, as "Anais to Radovid" is different depending on whether Adda is alive or dead, so "which savegame should I import" also becomes a decision point :).

 

- On Iorveth path, "Save Triss" must give a different political result depending on whether or not you kill the dragon. If you're including Letho as an option, then you should probably also include the status of the dragon on all of tthe Roche path options.

 

So you will need to add:

24 or 40 options for Anais on Roche path (your 8 should actually be 32 or 48)

16 for Triss (for the dragon)

 

giving a new total of either 72 or 88.

 

Then x 2 for Sile, giving a grand total of 144 or 176. Do you plan to play them all? :)

 

However, if you just look at political differences and only count dead royalty, but also include the Aryan decision since CDPR did, I've counted 28 variations.

 

Roche Path: (Henselt dead or alive) x (Anais with Radovid and Adda alive, Anais with Radovid and Adda dead, Anais with Natalis, Triss option) = 2 x 4 = 8

Iorveth Path: (Stennis dead or alive) x (Philippa option, Triss option with Saskia dead, Triss option with Saskia alive) = 2 x 3 = 6

Total 14, x 2 for Aryan = 28

 

Incidentally, have you found ANY political impact in-game from the Aryan decision, other than a couple of dialogues in Chapter 3, or do you think that the devs are leaving this for an addon/TW3?

 

 

TL;DR. 176 endings if you include the life/death of all major characters and TW1 import variations.
