  1. It's not a blender problem, it really does have holes, you can see it if you view the fbx files. And I haven't found what fills them yet.
  2. Activation code is not required, you just need to patch to at least version 1.35. The automated patching was down for a few days because of a server problem, but should be working now. If you ever have problems again, just manually update.
  3. The usual cause is if you're using one of the texture mods from an older version of the game. If you are, remove the mod and try again.
  4. There are two categories of mods for TW2 - those that use the toolkit, and those written before the toolkit came out. The ones from before the toolkit need to be installed as described in the mod instructions and will NOT show up in the content manager. CEO comes into that category.
  5. so when i download install and get the mods onto nexus mod manager everything looks good green check marks on mods but then i go to launch game i click on mods and the is nothing in the content manager so i cant run the game with the mods. do you know why that might be happening The installation method will depend on whether you're using mods that were developed using the toolkit, or older mods that weren't. The advice I gave in this particular thread was given in April 2012, well before the toolkit came out. If it's an older mod, the method I described will still work. It doesn't use the "mods" option under Launch Game. If it's a new mod, you're probably better asking in the comments for the mod itself, or start a new thread here and ask about it.
  6. My apologies if this has already been addressed somewhere - I saw that there had been issues generally over the last few days. But where have all of the Witcher mods gone? Mine have all disappeared, and looking at the filecount, I think a lot of others have too. Someone over at the Witcher forums said there'd been a database crash? Is there a thread anyway discussing it?
  7. I think that the chances are fairly high that a mod updated for EE would work OK with 2.0. It's definitely worth trying. Also just check the date of last update for mods - there are a LOT that weren't updated for EE anyway.
  8. No, it doesn't really need anything much. The one mod that I'd have considered essential was incorporated into the game itself on one of the patches. There are some excellent mods like CEO and Better Combat that enhance the game, but my recommendation would be to leave them until a later playthrough. But as the toolkit isn't out yet, there aren't a lot of mods that make big changes to the game.
  9. Yes, these forums are pretty dead for The Witcher at the moment, everyone's over at the main Witcher forums because of the TW3 announcements. If you're unsure about what to do on this particular quest, leave the area and then come back and visit him again. If you're unsure about what quests are currently available, check your journal - there should be a complete list there.
  10. Here you go: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3716596/ManualSave_0070.sav You need to loot the body, level up and claim your reward.
  11. OK - I found you over at the Witcher forum. Your savegame is waiting for you there :)
  12. The mods should come with installation info. There's no mod manager for the game. The toolkit hasn't been released yet.
  13. Make sure that the file is in CookedPC/items, not directly in CookedPC. You may need to create the items subfolder if it doesn't already exist.
  14. The problem with savegames from the middle of the game is that you lose all of your equipment, leveling, decisions. The best approach is to upload your OWN savegame from just before the fight to a hosting site such as mediafire, and then post a link asking for someone to play it through for you. I've done two in the last week, it's not an unusual request - some peoples' PC's just can't handle this fight, and it's a shame to miss out on the rest of the game because of it. It would probably be faster to do it across at the main Witcher forums. There're always threads going with others who have similar requests, such as this one: http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33397-may-i-have-some-help-with-the-kayran-please/ If you prefer to post here, no problem. PM me with the link (I only usually check the Nexus forums every few days)
  15. In TW2, the default is a high ponytail and there are in-game options to change to other styles. And nope, never seen that particular comment regarding TW1 before.
  16. OK. Sorry, but I'm out of ideas. If you want to upload your savegame, I can try it to see if it is corrupted and I get the same error, and a screenshot of your CookedPC folder may be useful. But I can't think of anything offhand. The mod itself was a fairly straightforward one, and deleting it SHOULD have just got rid of the effects.
  17. If you've deleted all of the files that were in the download, and verified the game cache, you shouldn't be having any more problems with this. Can you list any files in CookedPC that have the suffix .dzip? Some of these will be from the core system, but if there are extra ones, they could be leftover mods and could be a cause. Whereabouts in the game are you? And no, this isn't held in the savegame. So a full reinstall would be an option, as a last resort, but you should clear the CookedPC folder completely first if you're going to do that. Edit: Just thought of one other possibility. If you started the game on Dark Mode, was wearing DM equipment, and then dropped to one of the easier difficulties, your DM equipment would disappear. (Nothing to do with the mod, just the way that DM works.) This COULD be carried through into a savegame.
  18. The problem file is probably def_item_swordsteel.xml. You'd need to get a copy of the vanilla, unmodded file for the EE version of the game, compare it to the one from the mod to work out what the modder changed, and then make the same change to the EE version. That isn't as complicated as it sounds, and if you're willing to try it, I'll find a copy of the relevant vanilla files for you. The other three def_item files were also changed in EE, so you'll need to do the same with them too, otherwise you may hit some other issues later in the game (like invisible pants :) ) EDIT: These are the four vanilla files for EE. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3716596/VanillaEE.zip
  19. Not until the toolkit comes out next year. It would be technically possible at the moment to add the item to a merchant's inventory at a very low cost, so you may want to look through the existing mods to see if there's anything that does that or that you could easily use as a starting point to do it yourself. An alternative way of doing it would be to apply the texture to your existing equipment. You can do that using the technique described here. http://jaegercat.blogspot.com/2012/10/witcher-2-texture-swaps.html This works if you're really just looking at changing the appearance, and not concerned about the stats.
  20. It's an old mod that doesn't seem to have been updated for the most recent versions of the game, which will be why it's causing problems. Deleting the mod should have corrected the problem. Make sure that you've deleted every file listed in the uninstall notes. If it still doesn't work, delete the CookedPC/items and CookedPC/characters folders. (Make sure you do NOT delete CookedPC itself, and if you have other mods installed, you may need to reinstall them after doing this) If it still doesn't work, verify the cache if you have the Steam version, or reinstall if you have a non-Steam version.
  21. I've seen it happen occasionally when a gargoyle gets stuck when jumping down into the combat area. The only solution I've ever found is to revert to a savegame from before the combat.
  22. The easiest solution would be to get the Witcher 1 backup download from GoG - it's a free service for anyone who has a licenced copy of either TW1 or TW2. It will come already updated to the latest patch. Link here: http://www.gog.com/en/witcher2/backup/
  23. I'm not really clear from your post what the problem is. Is it playing but has a fully-dressed Triss? Not playing? Black screen? A little bit more information would be useful if you're asking for help. There haven't been any changes from CDPR that would have added clothes to Triss in the opening scene.
  24. It's only in the Steam folder structure if you got the game through Steam. Where did you install the game? Look at the C:\Program FIles directory (or C:\Program Files (x86) if you have a 64-bit version of Windows) and look for the game under the name The Witcher 2, CD Projekt Red or GoG. Or just do a search on your PC.
