PederDingo
Hi I am having a few different problems, so I thought I should just do one thread: 1. ENBseries causes the game to crash on startup (even when I change enbseries.ini to not load the actual effects on startup). This is odd because I have used ENBseries without any problems whatsoever in games like Oblivion and Freelancer. 2. I guess this has to do with the load order, but I am having some problems with my combination of mods. I have Project Nevada, Advanced Recon Tech/Gear, MCM, Primary Needs and Unified UI. Depending on the order I install them in, I can get different things working. My biggest problem have been not having the relevant MCM pause menu items - I got them now though, but it means that the nightvision mod for some reason stops working when changing scenes. When I enter a house, for instance, I cannot press N to switch nightvision on or off, even though I can access the Advanced Recon pause menu items. When I try to rebind the key when this occurs, nothing happens - it is like it doesn't register the input from the keyboard. When I save and reload the game, the nightvision mod works just fine again, until I change scene again - which means I basically have to reload the game everytime there is a new scene if I want nightvision. 3. I am not completely sure my Nevada Skies works. I remember when I first installed it, there was some insane massive thunderstorms I don't think I have seen in Fallout or New Vegas before, but now it just looks like basic weather. I even put sandstorms and rain on high frequency, but I haven't noticed anything. I have access to the in-game tool, just not sure it is not broken. Hope somebody can help me. I am a total noob on New Vegas mods, but I followed some tutorials. I have Fallout Mod Manager and the newest version of NVSE installed and used the BOSS feature to order the mods. I am on an i5, 4 gb ram, 2 gb geforce 540M win7 64-bit (the game installed in C:\Games\) and my mod order list is this: FalloutNV.esmFOOK - New Vegas.esmDeadMoney.esmHonestHearts.esmClassicPack.esmMercenaryPack.esmTribalPack.esmCaravanPack.esmProject Nevada - Core.esmProject Nevada - Equipment.esmAdvanced Recon Tech.esmPrimary Needs HUD.esmThe Mod Configuration Menu.espFOOK - New Vegas.espFOOK - No Loose Files.espProject Nevada - Cyberware.espImproved Sound FX.espImproved Sound FX - Gunshot Distance Tweak.espImproved Sound FX - Weapon Sharing Fix.espImproved Sound FX - HH.espImproved Sound FX - HH Sharing Fix.espNewVegasBounties.espAdvanced Recon Gear.espAdvanced Recon Tech.espWeaponModsExpanded.espImproved Sound FX - WMX - Weapon Sharing Fix.espNevada Skies - URWLHH.espDYNAVISION 2 - Dynamic Lens Effect.espProject Nevada - Rebalance.esp Total active plugins: 29Total plugins: 30 Any help would be much appreciated. PederDingo
Hi, it is installed in C:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\ I have deactivated some mods and I found out that I had installed Project Nevada and the MCM in the wrong order. However whenever I change scenes the ability to switch night vision on or off still stops working (but only 9 times out of 10 - sometimes it keeps working for a while), even though I can access everything in the pause menu (when I try to bind to a new key instead of the default 'n' it doesn't register any keyboard input, but if i click the mouse button it will register as mouse01, but even after binding the mouse button it wont switch anything on or off). Here is the updated mod list: FalloutNV.esmDeadMoney.esmHonestHearts.esmClassicPack.esmMercenaryPack.esmTribalPack.esmCaravanPack.esmProject Nevada - Core.esmProject Nevada - Equipment.esmAdvanced Recon Tech.esmPrimary Needs HUD.esmThe Mod Configuration Menu.espProject Nevada - Cyberware.espProject Nevada - Rebalance.espImproved Sound FX.espImproved Sound FX - Gunshot Distance Tweak.espImproved Sound FX - Weapon Sharing Fix.espNewVegasBounties.espAdvanced Recon Gear.espAdvanced Recon Tech.espAdvanced Recon Gear - Project Nevada.espWeaponModsExpanded.espNevada Skies.espDYNAVISION 2 - Dynamic Lens Effect.esp Total active plugins: 24Total plugins: 24 Nevada skies now works, I'm pretty sure. LHammonds
it is installed in C:\Games\Fallout New Vegas\How did you manage to get a Steam game installed outside the Steam folder? Reference article
PederDingo
Thanks for all the reply. I did as scrivener07 suggested and lined it up in the right load order, but the night vision keeps playing its tricks. However something really strange happened. I went indoors so night vision stopped working, and I found an implant (from PN) and when I picked it up, the nightvision switched back on on its own and was suddenly usable (until I went outside again). Perhaps it is conflicting with some PN stuff? EDIT: Nevermind, I found the PN bionic eyes implant, so no need for the recon mod :teehee: Edited August 10, 2011 by PederDingo
scrivener07
Glad to hear you night vision is working. In the future FNVEdit is a great tool for finding conflicts between plugins. Learn to use it well. If you have any trouble understanding how to use it start a new thread and Im sure a ton of people can help you learn the details. LHammonds
PederDingo, I'm really interested in knowing how to install individual games outside of the Steam folder. If you could point me to some documentation on it or tell me the steps, I can then use that as a recommendation for fixing UAC problems where people have installed Steam under the protected "Program Files" folder. Thanks,LHammonds

If you could point me to some documentation on it or tell me the steps, I can then use that as a recommendation for fixing UAC problems where people have installed Steam under the protected "Program Files" folder. Thanks,LHammonds I think it depends on your country's legislation. Here it is allowed to have and use a "un-licensed copy" if you have otherwise rights to the game, ie. bought the box (which I did) or bought New Vegas directly off Steam. I know from experience when modding a game it can be a benefit to get it out of the grasp of Steam or anything else for that matter, but again whether or not you can legally do it depends on your legislation. On a side not it just sucks that copyright protection takes away some of the flexibility of software you have purchased, when pirates get those things (Spore probably the prime example). It makes no sense that we pay for software and get less functionality than someone who pirates it for free. This is really not the way to beat piracy - by lowering the freedom of the content of our product compared to theirs. But anyways, this rant is very much off-topic:-) Edited August 11, 2011 by PederDingo
