cnaster
When I'm trying to create a mod in TES Construction Set and has Knights of the Nine activated it crashes when I try to save the mod. WHY?!
HeyYou
Because you are trying to create a dependency on another ESP file, and the CS doesn't like that. You have to use Wrye Bash, or similar tool, to 'esmify' KotN, so that you can use it.

David Brasher
Knights of the Nine is unique situation. You can't make a mastered patch to it. There is something funny with how Bethesda built it. Theoretically it would be possible, but it just doesn't work when people try it. If you want to mod with Knights of the Nine, you will either need to edit Knights.esp itself, like the other Knights of the Nine mods do, or do some extreme modcleaning on a copy of Knights.esp to chop out 95% of a copy of the DLC to only preserve what you want to transfer to another mod and make it saveable. If you are just after meshes or textures, don't even open Knights.esp and just change directory paths in your mod to refer to those things. If you are after things like scripting, you can just copy it to a clipboard and paste it into your mod without opening Knights.esp at the same time as your mod. If you upload your mod, be sure to follow the law by making your upload incomplete so that it will not work right and will perhaps crash if the downloader does not possess a copy of Knights of the Nine and have it installed. cnaster
I esmified it but that did not help, so I turned it back to ESP and tried setting KotN as the active file, which did the trick. Thank you! :D
