Is Oblivion modding taken over by perverts?

This is just ridiculous. Oblivion modding can't be "taken over" by anyone in any sane meaning of that word.

 

Oblivion modding is just people doing for free and for fun what they consider fun, and sharing it with others. You can't possibly say "hey, guys, devote your free time for sth else cause I want to use it" - it's not like that there is little lore-friendly armor because the society has been taken over by anime-fans, but rather there isn't that lot of people with your preferences. Modding skimpy armors doesn't cause the lack of realistic armor, it's rather lack of people interested enough to devote enormous amounts of time to it.

 

And people who tend to complain about other's people prefrences are something I never got to understand. Does it also bother you that someone is, I don't know, eating pizza with ingridients you consider untasty?

Would it you if that's all you have to choose from and then you'd have to pick off the ingredients you don't like? Or a better analogy, would it bother you if you went to the buffet and 80 - 90% of the available pizzas are made the way you don't like? Gives the rest of what's available slim pickings. What would you do in that case?

 

 

Personally, I don't really care eihter way. I can see both sides here. However, those that say skinny outfits don't belong in fantasy live in their own separate fantasy since that type of thing has been around for ages. Just look at the covers of old fantasy themed books from many years ago and you can see that.

 

On the other hand, that kind of thing can be overdone as well.

Fortunately, we are not going to change anything just to please the few members who have evidently never seen sword and sorcery fantasy before. This trend goes back to at least the 1950s where females were pictured on the cover of fantasy books as scantily clad, and there are even examples of scantly clad females in armor, along with even more scantily clad hulking hero males wearing only a fur loincloth. The same trend has been continued - look at some of the advertising for video sword and sorcery games to see that it still sells games today. Is that unrealistic? Well, yes, but it IS fantasy where anything is possible. Maybe your fantasy is not the same as someone elses?

That does not allow you to use an inflammatory word like 'pervert' to describe some one elses taste.

You get a strike for flaming for that one. If it had been directed at a particular person or a particular mod it would have meant an instant ban.As it was generic and not personal - a single strike should suffice. Please be more careful in your word choice in the future, as calling our members names can get you banned.

Well if this was a restaurant who had claimed a varied selection, and had charged me as such; I could, and would be within my rights under the implied contract created by Supply of Goods and Services Act, seek compensation. However if this was simply a table in a field, with a sign saying 'free pizza', then clearly whosoever left the pizza there has no contractual obligation towards me.

 

..since no one released a "prostitution animation" mod where you can actually look like you're, you know, doing the actual deed.

I've got an idea in my head, and it should be fairly simply to implement. By this time next week, you shall have your wish. :devil:

It's possible that the OP was attempting commentary upon society's increasingly voyeuristic nature; on how the all-permeating, political apathy so ubiquitous in these modern times has seeped into our sexualities; and how years of watching others on screens live their lives instead of living our own has started to pervert our sense of empathy into just another paraphelia.

However it is also possible that the OP is simply an adolescent, looking to crack one off.

to be 100% honest i agree with the person who posted this in some standards i like this site but i hate seeing all these female overhauls with armor and looks. and yes i totally agree it would be extreamly nice to find decent and really cool male armor besides what i have been seeing for so long. cant anyone just say no to making the female stuff and say yes im going to finally after who know how long make some male armor?

Most people play "swords and magic" ROLE-PLAYING games so that they can act out as the "hero" they'd want to be, not the hot and sexy person opposite to their sex to arouse them. I mean, you'd say no to this statement if you have never seen a girl naked before...or if you're really really horny, and your country blocked off all porn sites...or other reasons.

But then again, burly men holding axes in large armor coming to own one enemy is better than a bunch of hot chicks shoot bows or slashing blades or....well, I like it when girls cast spells, but I never use spells anyway.

 

Having 90% of the player armor made for the hot female bodies is rather annoying because it's rather impractical, that is, again, unless you're a really really really lonely guy. The only fix is a sex mod, for more immersion!!! I mean you have those animation mods, what is it? Actors in Motion? custom animations and stuff. Why not Actors in...Relations?? nice name, no? lol :tongue:

 

I mean, the way I see it is like this: the bot female bodies can be like food in Oblivion. It's annoying, to me, to not see your character munching on the food. It only gives you health, and certain other alchemical effects. The analysis is like this, food is as to hot bodies themselves, muching animation is as to sex animations (immersion, interactions = immersion!!), and looks of food is as to sexiness of the hot bodies

 

Anyway, I did try to use the tags and filters in the search, didn't help much since people decide that a piece of ass-revealing, cleavage-squeezing female hot body armor can be tagged as "Armor - Males." Such a trollolol way to tag downloads.

 

One more thing, I do appreciate the community's understanding of my plight, sorry for saying pervert, hope no-one took that too strongly. Now, if I were in the Steam forums, I'd get a gigantic backlash 2 seconds after I post this same thread. Steam users just love to hate (get it? Steam? steamy = hot tempered? haha steam....). I tell you, they'd verbally assault anyone who slightly touches on anything they dislike, then 20 minutes later, I'd probably get 50 post accusing me of trolling.
