Colactic
(This is a repost of something I posted earlier which got locked due to posted in the wrong topic. Lets see if I got it right now)Hi! I'm having an issue (derp). After finding out that you could stitch together pieces from different armors in Nifscope i've gone absolutely ballistic in the whole making new armors affair (for self use though). But i've encountered a problem. For some reason certain pieces of armor won't show when I put them onto other armors. The armors I use comes from other mods within the game, and that leads to another question. If it is for self usage, do I first need the original modders permission in order to mess with it a bit or is it only if I have intentions to re-upload it?In Nifscope the pieces are placed perfectly fine but when I enter the game they won't show.I have no idea what may causing this, anyone could help me out? Thanks in advance.
Natterforme
Two things: 1. Im pretty sure that you can do whatever you want with the modded content as long as you dont intend to re upload it and claim it as your own.2. Second, if you are taking pieces from different armors and placing them on a stock piece, be sure to : -rename the armor to something new(i.e yourarmortest) -make new folder in meshes that is the name of your new armor -make a new folder in Textures that is the name of your new armor - throw the armor mesh into that new meshes folder and save any changes to it under that new folder you just made - copy all the textures you are using in this new mesh to its new corresponding texture folder - reestablish all texture paths to go to the new textures folder you made specifically for this armor Be sure to save your work and make a new form in the Construction set in a new container. Never rename stock Oblivion equipment if you want to avoid changing everything unintentionally. Always create a new .esp file to work from (i.e. yournewarmortest). Carah
I'm needing help with the same problem. I have done everything that Natterforme has suggested. What I have done is added a cape to a Mithril Cuirass. It shows up great in NifSkope, but the cape doesn't show up in the game. It might have something to do with not having a clue to what I am doing when it comes to adding a part of mesh to another. I would love to find a tutorial on this, but without needing to deal with Blender. Sorry for hi-jacking your post, Colactic.
Flintlockecole
I'll try and make a fool-proof tutorial for copy/pasting stuff in nifskope when I get off work. Although this tutorial is pretty straightforward http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Making_New_Armor_Using_NifSkope Edit: Heres a Fool Proof Tutorial I wrote, http://www.mediafire.com/?lm11uazhj40eemm Edited August 19, 2011 by Flintlockecole
Colactic
Np, used my thread all you like :)Also I fixed my problems by installing the mods I've used meshes from onto the game (derp). Who'd figure the textures wasn't included in the meshes ...But, one mesh is still missing. Its from the Silverlight armor mod http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28723 . Is this mod special in any other way but the fact that its awesome?Any help would be appreciated. Also i'd like to see if there is an easy solution to this rather than the details Natterforme gave. Great and appreciated as they are, I am VERY inexperienced with messing with mods in terms of meshes and textures, so it would probably take me a whole lot of time before I got it all done and figured, if I even get it figured. Thanks in advance!
