spikes210
Hey everyone. In Response to my last post about a companion household i have decided to attempt to mod/create one myself. But i have found that placing objects in the Editor is the most tedious thing i have ever done. I would have make 20 cities if positioning objects was not so difficult. Is their another form of render window or editor that is not the orgnial TES construction set ? Thanks spike
bencebence
And why is it hard...?All you have to do, is drag the object from object window to render window, then there you can make items go lower, higher via Z + holding down left mouse buton and moving it up and down, rotate them via right mouse button, and move them via left mouse button. Also you can rotate your view with shift and moving the mouse into any directions.
bben46
As far as I know, that's the only one. If it was easy then everyone would be making games and Beth would be out of business.
DarkWarrior45
Hey everyone. In Response to my last post about a companion household i have decided to attempt to mod/create one myself. But i have found that placing objects in the Editor is the most tedious thing i have ever done. I would have make 20 cities if positioning objects was not so difficult. Is their another form of render window or editor that is not the orgnial TES construction set ? Thanks spike Yes, it is tedious. The more detailed your scene, the more tedious the construction of that scene is going to be. This is true not only in the construction set, but also Galaxy Edit, Unreal Development Kit, Cryotek, and a bunch of other editors for other games as well. It is the nature of the beast. Now there are shortcuts that will make your life easier. Holding the z and x keys will restrict the movement to their associated axis, pressing d with an object selected will automatically copy and paste it in the render window for you, and much more shortcuts. By the time you've used the editor, you won't be able to live without the keyboard shortcuts. You also want to check your preferences, as there is grid snap and rotation snap that can be toggled and modified. Another thing that I've wanted to experiment with, but never tried, is moving the render window over to an attached second monitor, resize it to fit the screen, and then have everything else on the first monitor. Might give it a shot if you got a second monitor lying around. If not, then check craigslist, people are always trying to get rid of stuff like that. LFact
Also, 'snap' can be a lifesaver when you're placing architecture tilesets.
David Brasher
If you think object placement is hard and takes a lot of time, try scripting and quest-coding.

Deleted1848331User
Trust me, Oblivion scripting is harder than you think. Even if you have done it for other games, you can count on Oblivion's being harder... Oblivion scripting language is like a really emotional person who is slightly insane. This was actually probably the funniest thing I've seen today, actually. (I've had a really boring day) Edited August 18, 2011 by Guest
