Regarding install order for Shivering Isles

So I chose to install my game like this:

1.) Installed Oblivion 1.0 via standard disc. Not GOTY, not direct-drive.

2.) Installed Oblivion 1.1.511 Patch

3.) Installed Oblivion 1.2.416 Patch

4.) Installed Shivering Isles

Does this mean my Shivering Isles is still vanilla? Do I still need to add the Shivering Isles v1.2.416English patch on top of it, or can I skip to the unofficial patches now? I ask because like so many others, I suffer from the "old file not found" issue, and this is the only course I can take. If I attempt to install Shivering Isles v1.2.416 after the Oblivion install, that's the error I get.

Alternatively, I could install Oblivion 1.0, then 1.1.511, then install SI, then update SI, but then the 1.2.416 version for standard Oblivion doesn't work! It's like I have to pick my poison - do I want 1.2.416 for standard Oblivion without SI updated, or do I want 1.2.416 for SI without Oblivion updated!

Are the v1.2.416 versions of Oblivion and SI the exact same thing? Do I only need to use one? If so, that would explain why I can't install both. If so, I can move on to the unofficial patches now, right?

If you're gonna install SI, do not patch the game before install it. SI changes Oblivion.exe and Oblivion.esm during installation(the plugin DLCShiveringIsles.esp is dummy plugin for loading SI resources), so you have to apply SI patch after install it(normal Oblivion patch won't work when you have SI installed). Also, Unofficial Patches are working like ordinary mods, so they need the game to be patched to latest version to work.

So then you would do the following?...

1.) Oblivion 1.0 install

2.) SI Install

3.) Oblivion 1.1.511 Patch

4.) Oblivion 1.2.416 Patch

After that, then can I move onto to the unofficial patches, or do I have to apply the SI 1.2.416 patch on top of all this? That's the part that will probably give me the "old error," but I can't say for sure.
