regwald
I've been browsing both Fallout 3 nexus and Fallout New Vegas nexus for a while now and have noticed something that has troubled me greatly. there are no melee combat animation re-placers for Fallout 3 or for Fallout new Vegas. I'm a melee oriented guy myself, and am always disappointed with the basic movements that are in the game. now I know that usually most people prefer guns over swords, but its always nice to be able to through your enemy off guard by closing the distance and engaging in some good old school melee combat. so I'm asking any Modder out there who's up for the challenge to try to make new animations for Fallout New Vegas melee weapons and new unarmed animations. billyro
What is wrong with the melee animations? Sure, melee itself if pretty poor as the game is directed to shooting, but the anims themselves aren't that bad are they? I think that the worst thing about melee combat is the recoil, like in Oblivion. You hit them when they block and it takes you a whole second to regain composure. It should be half that. The melee animations are still better than Oblivion's too: in 3rd person, if you hit the ground, he actually hits the ground. Oblivion, he just slashes at the air infront of him and sparks appear on the ground.Perhaps I am misinterpreting what you are asking, but I find that the animations can't really be improved that much. The only thing that could be improved is the idle stance.
Ubertubergober
The forward charge attack is kind of messed up, though... He turns a sword all the way around and slashes up at his opponent with it.... It just doesn't look right, nobody does that...... Plus the sword would probably fly out of your hand if you did that.... or you'd break your wrist.....
