So, I've finally finished the Main Quest

I have done the main quest twice. The first time, I was too interested in what would have come next to stop. The second time, I was like movetoqt movetoqt movetoqt.

In my opinion, the blades didn't do enough. The only involvement they had was attempting to free the emporer, giving Martin a home, and helping in a little battle while I go and get the great sigil stone. The captain offered me one quest which was to kill 2 weaklings. They didn't have much dialogue besides 'go talk to this person, because I'm busy watching snow melt' and the people who you could talk to had only a few lines of dialogue. Jauffre gives you a sword, woohoo. Jauffre tells you to do this, woohoo. Jauffre tells you to do this, 'shut up, Jauffre!' So, you get accepted into the blades! Wow, there must be so much cool stuff that I get to do now that I'm a blade! No, you get access to an armoury and a bed. You get a poor title that you can't even advance on. You don't help to protect Cloud Ruler Temple. None of the blades die except for Renault, Glenroy, and possibly Baurus. Your end reward for saving the world is cool looking though completely weak armour that takes a whole week to get. There is also no proper court in Cyrodiil, merely 1 elf and a dozen tough soldiers to rule while the empire crumbles like a destroyed Oblivion gate.

And even though there is all that...

The end of the main quest was very nice. I enjoyed Martin's final commentary: telling me that it may be the end, but really it's just opening new beginnings. Sure, some aspects could have been greatly improved, but overall it was a great experience. One that I will not forget.
