Windows 7 crashes and freezes.

I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 installed and I've installed F3 and NV and every time I play for 10-15 minutes they crash,F3 only seems to do it when combat starts,NV only does it in certain areas,about half those cleared up after Old world Blues.

 

I've downloaded every patch, tried every tweek, even uninstalled and reinstalled, used every utility I can find, gutted the graphics and even the colors with one mod to make them run in black and white.I have a brand new card and 2GB+ of ram and everything patched up to date and still it freezes when the shooting starts.

 

I can live with NV acting up a bit,every time they add something it gets better but F3 is my favorite game and I'd love to play it without wanting to take a flamer to my computer.

 

Any help you give is highly appreciated.

 

I'm running a Compaq Persario,full ram and a ATI Raedon 3500/4500.

 

The graphics look beautiful and run like glass even on high.the game just chokes when I fight.

That isn't really a good PC to begin with.

Try to lower the graphic settings a bit.

 

Also in Fallout 3 disable the option "Water Refractions" in the Fallout 3 Launcher.

That helped quite a bit on my previous card (4850)

This may sound stupid - but have you installed it by doing the installer in "run as administrator" mode? And then launched the game using "run as admin" mode?

I had trouble with my new windows 7 comp I just built 2 months ago, but is was just a constant black screen when I loaded fallout. and I can't really remember what i did to fix it.
