Just got it. Looking for graphics mods.

So I've been looking around for some graphics mods for Fallout 3. Any good ideas? Texture packs? Graphics? What are the best?

this mod is probably the most famous texture pack of all time, and somehow i never got to use it (amazing, isn't it??)

however, i have heard only good things about it, and with good reason

so even though i didn't use it myself, i can still recommend it to you

 

this mod is another mod i didn't use, but it did get a place at the Top 100 page, so there must be a very good reason for this

i mean, you probably can't judge, as you didn't play the game before (or so i would guess, judging by the "i just got it" statement), but if you look at the pictures, you see just how big the difference is, and it looks great

 

and now for a mod i did use and enjoy very much, though it may not be exactly what you are looking for

this mod's name speaks for itself, and the gore it brings screams out in dark cold pleasure :devil:

just kidding, but still, blood that looks this good is probably a must have in such a game

 

now, the next two mods aren't really graphic mods or texture packs, but they do make the game look better, at least in some aspects

 

first is EVE, which will make you want to use energy weapons, just for the amazing rays of destruction, and the beauty of the new and unique ash piles (and other different freaky piles of dead raiders :laugh:)

but if you don't trust me, there are plenty of pictures and videos to satisfy your energy rush, so go check it out!

 

and last but not least is a personal favorite, a mod that i enjoyed in both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, where it made both games look so much better, and so much more realistic

i am, of course, referring to the amazing Fellout

trust me, you haven't seen a beautiful wasteland until you've seen Fellout

of course, it might be problematic for you, if you are afraid of the dark, because at nights, you won't see your hand reached out (yep, it's really that dark)

so you should get some sort of night vision mod to go along with it, or just wait out the long nights of the wastes

 

and that is the end of this little review by me

I f you have a good graphic device i recommand enb series for fallout3 and enhanced shaders, anyway streetlights is a must and go well with fellout , Enhanced weather, realistic weather, one thing about fellout, it makes the night pitch black

 

you can easily reedit it, some like Pitch black nights, i found it's non sense so i reedited all night weather forms in GECK (World/Weather) to have it just a little bit more brighter and made the sky to be more dark blue, so i cannot see clearly the details but i can distinguish roads, mountains, trees and a bit around me wich feel just like real life nights.

Thanks, especially wasted assasin(one heck of a post XD). But for the first mod: how come for one of the files it tells me to insert some disk? Not the fallout disk, but some other one I have no clue about when I try to unzip it using winzip? Edited September 2, 2011 by Goliath978

also, have you downloaded all the needed parts before you try to unpack??

Never mind! I just actually read the instructions and it worked fine. Initially since I was a big modder for TES4 I was confident and didn't read any of the instructions. :wallbash:
