Akrid
:help: My Alienware is sooo sweet, but unfortunatley it is using Windows XP, so I have a problem, for some reason Servise program manager keeps popping up these "i' messages (they have the enbalem of the blue monitor with the white "i" on it). The messages popup and leave so fast I cant click them, they only show up as minimized in the task bar and disapear. Anyway this error causes some programs to like games (not morrowind, the designers made it too good) to minimize, then they go maximize automaticly, but it's real anoying, I get these errors in Photoshop (7.0) and it meeses with me there also. I hate these little messeges that persistantly pop-up at about 5 minute intervals, How do I make them stop!?
drowst
I've not experienced this program before, but the best bet is to do a three finger salute-ctrl alt del and see if you can find the particular program that is causing the pop-ups. You can shut it down that way, although it will restart on a reboot most likely. You can also check your startup folder, and delete the program from there, or check and see if it is in the taskbar on the lower right. Is this an alienware program? I did a google on it and came up dry....
Peregrine
Is it a windows function? If it is, you'll have to find somewhere to turn it off. But if it's an separate program, then do as drowst said. Then run msconfig, go to startup, and uncheck the program that's doing it. Then it won't ever start up again automatically. WARNING: Disabling that function may cause problems. I am not responsible for any consequences of following my advice.
