When I reinstalled Oblivion, I said to myself, "Okay, no mods until I beat the game."

 

Didn't happen. :pinch:

 

I installed several mods, one being a body mod. It was NOT, however, the first mod I installed.

 

I didn't choose one that gives the character breast implants. I chose Roberts Female v12, which is based off of a more Average body type.

 

But that's not the point.

 

In our modern day world, people (unfortuneatly) think that sexier means smarter, or that bigger means better.

Little story that most people don't believe, but I have a female friend that I knew for three years before I noticed she was 38D. When I commented to her on it, she laughed and said, "When you're not talking to me, you're too busy looking at my legs and butt to notice.

 

Too bad the women in Oblivion didn't have legs like her, no matter how sexy they make the mods.

(To AlienSlof): Well said -- if anyone has been disparaging your mods (sorry, I don't have time to read this whole thread, but it seems that has been happening?), I think the mods look generally great -- and as a bonus, finally, some sexed-up manflesh to admire. I actually don't use body mods (except for Better Bodies for Morrowind, but only because the ugly puppet-like articulation of the vanilla bodies was so awful), but to judge from the screenshots, your mods are technically excellent, beautifully designed and, above all, very original. Tell 'em to go and try it themselves if they think body modding is so easy!!

 

Have you ever thought of modding a tall'n'handsome male High Elf? I'd be a surefire candidate for that...!

 

Keep the faith... and keep those biceps coming!! ;)

I am a male (62) and I play with a male character. I do get a bit uncomfortable with the endless supply of

thong clothes/armour. What I mean to say is - I like looking at skimpy clothed and naked women,

but I don't really want to stare up there bums while I play the a game.

If I were to play as a female I would probably go for "proper" armour,but I like the Exnem female bodies.

and I have used CS to change the clothes of many of the female npc's with all the sexy variations I can find.

I've also changed the race of most of the ladies in the bathouse mod, and a couple of other non-essential characters

so I could use some of Growlf's gear (don't try this with anyone who matters as you will loose the dialogue).

I've changed clothes/armour on some of the male npc's also, using Slof's wicked gear. I think I may try her bondage gear

on that sad soul she caged in the Goth Shop next.

And allow me to shock you - I'm about to go through the whole process again with the HG re-mod. Huba-huba....

Before I got the "Quick Store" mod I use to drop all my battle gear outside the cave, etc and run around nude so I couldcarry more loot back to town. and just for a little more fun, slip on one of Slof's boners and trapse through town

zapping the women with the nude spell.

I also like seeing the "eye candy" bods when I loot the caves.

My male npc's of different human races all have different variations of Yakooza and other tats, and I've wacked on

Slof's dangle for an even better impression.

More on topic - Companions. Haven't used one yet, but I downloaded a bunch today. I might try a sexy babe,

but I'm sure to give Gandalf a go.

Some folks just need to lighten up. It's only a game. Don't take it or yourself too seriously.

Let's face it. If we are troubled with the nudity and sexy stuff we should also be bothered by the Thieves Guild and

Dark Brotherhood (neither of which I have joined, but if you want to, feel free it don't bother me.) and some of the other

dark elements of the game. btw - I have heaps of other mods as well, (kudos to JQ) but you guessed this.

Just looked at the new clothes conversion Mod.

Yep ! It's a bit too much with the bottomless, and while I like "skimpy" and the jiggle effects I reckon the clothes with boobs fully out are a bit overdone also. It's also a bit strange having the humanoid races hanging it all out. And, as the writer on the next page said, it is undignified having women all over Cyrodill nude, or near nude.

Still, I do like a lot of the gear, and will be adding some of the new skimpy clothes and armour to some of the

ladies around Cyrodiil. A bit of spice hear and there is nice....

The Underwear for females in Vanilla looks like its been worn for a lifetime. No Wonder i cant get it off. Its stuck...

Damn. This Underwear would sell really good. Can be used as stink bomb...

I couldnt find any. There are plenty Underwear mods for all Kinds of Dessous, but nothing "normal".

I know exactly what you mean about the objectifying of females in RPGs (and the rest of the IT world -- even the packaging for graphics cards almost always features some dim-looking female in a state of partial undress, for reasons I can never understand.

gman021, hsandman_2, the "naked men" was about mods, not pictures. There's some difference, isn't it? :)

 

Besides, there's huge difference between a nude woman that bathes in a lake and... well... technically not completely nude woman who wears a thong against an army of... let's say goblins. The first one is unarguably natural, lore-friendly and blah-blah-blah, the second one... well, (aside from thongs not being used in a Renaissance-age setting by anyone except prostitutes, but lore-friendliness is a choice anyone is free to make or not to make) someone mentioned a psychological effect a scantily-dressed female "warrior" has on her opponents, but... goblins don't care for erotics=arrow-pierced corpse of a pretty half-nude woman ^_^

And what of male mods like that... I don't recall them being used in a warrior context, while female.. well, you must already know o:-)

I entirely agree with OP post really. I am a strait 19 year old Male. And I just find most of the content for females out there...impractical to say the least. No Dignified woman in the right mind would dare walk around public in 3/4 of the mods out there for oblivion. I guess i just respect my female characters too much to play "erotic dress up".

 

Granted I'm a lore junky,so I dont have my female characters waltz around in a strap bikini and call it armor. No, I have my characters waltz around in armor that actually looks like it makes sense! But at the same time, when i (always) see the mods being released for women, I just pass it by without saying a word. *shrug* as long as it floats someones boat I suppose.

 

But yea, someone already explained the demographic who plays this game, so the overflow of mods with women being portrayed the way they are is inevitable. Atleast Slof is balancing it for males. :whistling:
