Retexturing for Kvatch Castle Interiors

I would like to re-texture and/or re-design the Kvatch Castle Interiors as if there was no Main Quest attack.

Essentially what I am looking for is a duplicate of the cell interiors for Kvatch Castle, to scale with the only difference is that,

the noticable chips in the walls, pillars and any other damage to structure would be removed.

This includes the interiors:

KvatchCastle

KvatchCastleDiningHall

KvatchCastleKingsQuarters

KvatchCastleRooms

KvatchCastleSleepingQuarters

Overall I like the stone imaging and would not need any changes to its color or surface design, this is simply to correct the irregularites in the wall.

As an example:

The KvatchCastleRoomsInterior when viewing the Base Object KvatchCastleIntHall02 the walls are fine but both pillars need to be fixed (one has imperfections/ the other pillar is almost entirely gone and will need to be replaced along with the damage to the floor at its base).

Another example:

The same interior KvatchCastleRoomsInterior the Base ObjectKvatchCastleInt01 there is no damage anywhere and does not need to be fixed or altered in anyway.

Hopefully these examples provide you with an overall idea of what I want this mod to include; and those interested I would be able to describe my exact plan of what changes need to take place.

Now that you know what I want could you tell me:

Can this be Done???? (editing interiors that is)

If so what tools would I need to do it myself???? ](because as a person I would never ask anyone to do anything that I would not be willing to do myself)

And anyone interested in helping me with implementing what I have covered I certainly would appreciate it.

Just to be safe... You do know there already is a mod that rebuilds Kvatch after you cleared out the daedra?

Link

I know it's something different and maybe you don't care but I just wanted to mention it.

You can edit interiors (Almost anything you can think of, really) with the Construction Set.

If you need help getting started take a look at this site.

I actually have spent a great deal of time looking at many Kvatch mods, I am actually in Mechstorm forums, I like the general layout of what has been done for Kvatch Aftermath but the specifically the Castle Interiors are totally inaccurate to what was originally designed by Beth. The exteriors I like, and am quite satisfied generally with what has been done. I know of a few Kvatch mods that use this same interior. Can anyone think of a Kvatch mod that does not include the same Castle interiors as Kvatch Aftermath.

About CS I have spent several hors looking at Wiki CS and have had no luck finding a tutorial that describes how to edit interiors. I know there is lots on items, weapons, armor etc. , maybe I just am looking in the wrong place (if someone knows of where to look could you post the link)?

hoots7: Thanks for posting these but are there any changes specifically in the Castle interiors, because as mentioned above that is what I am intersted in.

To edit interiors, you simply open the CS, load Oblivion.esm, and right click on the interior you want to edit.

But for what you want to do, you'd have to be good at interior design, 3D modeling, and texturing- You'd have to change all the current models so they looked undamaged, as well as change the textures and make the new models you'd need, and you'd then need to rebuild the entire castle using the new models. Very hard.

This is informative but doesn't fully tell me what tools I would need, ive done some researching and Beth uses "3ds Max" but this program is $3500 (absurd). Also "Nifscope" can edit meshes, but I don't know how to get interiors from an esm. into the Nifscope where I could edit them, any ideas, suggestions, anyone.

BTW if you know anyone that has 3d Max I would love to talk 2 them!!!!

Ive spent a great deal of time looking at the Kvatch interiors and I would only need meshes and textures for 5 different NIfs

KvatchCastleIntHall02

KvatchCastlegreatHallbig01

KvatchCastlegreatHallbig02

KvatchCastlegreatHallbig03

KvatchSpiralStair01

every other Nif has no structural damage on it so no changes would need to be made.

I tried to open these in both NifSkope and Blender but am having trouble any suggestions

Well, you should be able to open them in Nifskope fine- make sure you've unpacked them from the .bsa files first, using BSACommander or something.

To actually edit them fully, you'll need to import them into Blender, but I'm not quite sure how to do that, you'll have to ask someone who does.

Remember, you can edit the meshes for each particular object with Blender and Nifskope, but then you'd need to make a new object for each of them in the CS, and make a new interior cell, copying and pasting the contents of the old one into it, then delete the objects you want to replace, and put in the new ones.

That's a brief overview of everything you'd need to do (assuming you know how to use Blender, Nifskope and the CS), I expect others here will be able to go into more detail about different parts of it.

I keep getting this message every time I try to open a mesh in NIfscope any suggestions

"array "Constraints" much too large"

"failed to load block number 6 (bhkRigidBodyT) previous block was bhkMoppBvTreeShape"

"failed to load nif from 'C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data/BSA/meshes/architecture/castle/kvatch/kvatch castle int hall02.nif'"

And Blender I can't seem to open anthing at all.

Ive unpacked all BSA's so I dont know where to go??

Any suggestions....... Anyone

P.S. thx Terminator
