Maeve
Hi everyone, This is driving me nuts, I have built and rebuilt oblivion over 5 times and I still seem to have exactly the same problem. If I try to enter any of the necromancer forts such as Istrius I CTD about a third of the way through the loading bar. Everywhere else is almost flawless and a crash very rare. I have Bossed and Wyre Bashed many times...Any suggestions? oblivion.esmfrancesco's leveled creatures-items mod.esm francesco's optional new items add-on.esm francesco's optional new creatures add-on.esm cobl main.esm oscuro's_oblivion_overhaul.esmmart's monster mod.esm !tamrieltravellers.esm fcom_convergence.esmcm partners.esm unofficial oblivion patch.esp uop vampire aging & face fix.espoblivion citadel door fix.esp dlcshiveringisles.esp unofficial shivering isles patch.espfrancesco's optional chance of stronger bosses.espfrancesco's optional chance of stronger enemies.esprancesco's optional chance of more enemies.espfcom_francescos.esp fcom_francescositemsaddon.esp fcom_francescosnamedbosses.esp fran armor add-on.esp fran_lv30item_maltz.esp dlchorsearmor.esp dlcorrery.esp dlcorrery - unofficial patch.esp dlcmehrunesrazor.esp dlcspelltomes.esp hgec_special_armor_repl.esp classyclothingcompendium.esp exnemruneskulls.esp fcom_exnemruneskulls.espcobl glue.esp cobl si.esp cobl tweaks.esp bob's armory oblivion.esp fcom_bobsarmory.esp loth's blunt weapons.esploth's blunt weapons for npcs.esp fcom_lothsbluntweapons.esp oblivion warcry ev.espfcom_warcry.esp oscuro's_oblivion_overhaul.esp ooo-water_weeds.esp ooo 1.32-cobl.esp fcom_cobl.esp fcom_convergence.esp fcom_entropicorderrebalance.esp fcom_realswords.esp fcom_durabilityanddamage.esp fcom_spawnratesreduced.esp fcom_spawnratesslightlyreduced.espfcom_saferroads.esp fcom_lessrats.esp (mart's monster mod - no carrion rats.esp monster mod - less bone loot.esp mart's monster mod.esp tamrieltravelleradvscript.esptamrieltravellers4ooo.esptamrieltravellersitemscobl.esp fcom_tamrieltravelers.espfcom_diverseguardunity.espfcom_bobsguardunity.esp fcom_hungersunitysi.espooo-waterfish.esp apachii_goddess_store.espdlcbattlehorncastle.esp dlcbattlehorncastle - unofficial patch.esp dlcfrostcrag.esp frostcragreborncobl.espknights.espfcom_knights.esp fcom_unofficialfranarmoraddon.espbag of holding.esp nirnrootpermpotions.esp suprememagicka.esp sm_shiveringisles.esp sm_dlcspelltome.espsm_ooo.esp sm_cobl.esp sm_enchantstaff.esp midasspells.esp midasspelltomes.esp ssee-ooo.esp specialanims.esp ren_beautypack_onlyhairs.espcm partners.esp cuteelf11.esp ahtata_khabaxi.espahtata dremora.esp ahtata arquamer female got hair.esp cm partners npc.esp µîcm partners more npcs ne.esp cm partners extra npcs.esp mart's monster mod - resized races.esp bashed patch, 0.esp
bben46
Usually when I see this type of crash - either in a particular location, or when some particular thing is supposed to be there - it is caused by something that has been removed. The game expects to see something in that location and it isn't there. Possibly something from a mod that you removed at some time. If you use OBMM it keeps a list of all mods that were installed at every save. By going back to earlier saves and finding one that doesn't crash, then comparing that mod list with your current list you may be able to narrow it down some. If you have reinstalled without removing the data from the old mods, it could be a missing mesh, texture or something else that is not removed during a normal reinstall. The built in game uninstall does not remove anything from mods - It ONLY removes the files that were installed when you first installed the game. Here is a troubleshooting procedure that might help you. Be sure to make a save near one of the locations that crashes first.Bben's Oblivion Revert to Vanilla gameWIKI http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Revert_to_vanilla_data Last resort, This procedure does remove everything not removed by the game uninstall, and leads you through a fresh reinstall in the right location. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the WIKI section of the Nexushttp://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Oblivion_reinstall_procedure It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. Once you have a working game use this to keep it safe while trying new modsMtes4manager: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35263
Maeve
Thanks bben46, I have clean installed a few times and followed FCOM instructions to the letter but still the same problem with necromancers (in caves and forts). I will try your suggestions.
HeyYou
When building your bashed patch, there are a couple of import options for OOO that should NOT be checked..... I don't recall exactly what they were at this point though. I ran into the same problem.
