KotN items not appearing in my mod!!!!

Okay, I am currently working on a mod, it's a simple player home with a hidden secret: a hidden chamber with all of the Wayshrines in it! I'm trying to decorate it with some stuff from the Knights of the Nine expansion, like rugs, tapestries, even the armor stand, it shows up okay in the construction set, but when I test the mod in-game, all of the KotN stuff is missing!!!! I did manage to get the armor stand to show up in-game, but nothing happens when I try to activate it! I have seen other mods that use stuff from KotN, including the armor stand, if they got it to work, why can't I????

To use things from another mod, you have to use Wrye Bash to create a mastered patch. See the Deisolation Tutorial. Unfortunately, Knights of the Nine has some strange characteristics and is not like a common mod. This approach will not work and the CS will crash. So there are three main approaches:

( A ) Edit Knights.esp itself.

( B ) Create new objects in your mod and set up the mesh paths to point to Knights of the Nine meshes. (You never have to open Knights of the Nine in the CS at the same time as you open your mod when you use this approach.) To get the scripts, you will need to cut and paste them from Knights.esp to a clipboard and paste them from there into your mod since you can't save when both your mod and Knights.esp are open at the same time in the CS.

( C ) Make a copy of Knights.esp and edit it. (Don't overwrite your original, because you are going to be pretty much destroying this copy.)

(1) Edit this copy of Knights of the Nine.

(2) Use the CS and TES4Edit to engage in extreme modcleaning to remove 95% or more of the file so that Knights of the Nine is no longer really in it but your edits are.

(3) Repair any damaged or missing content from the edits you made before the modcleaning.

Try using TES4Files to export your mod. It will automatically export any files not included in the Oblivion esm, taking care of the filepaths for you. I like to create OMOD files from the export, just in case i made mistakes. Edited by eric31415
