Kaoskaix
I recently decided to finally buy the pc version of Oblivion. I previously owned the 360 version and I wanted to mod the game. Anyway I downloaded some 60 or so mods that I found interesting and after many hours of reading installing instructions I managed to get them in there. Then I spent more time collecting patches and other things to make them all compatible and finally got it running. Everything was fine right up until I realized that I hadn't remembered to install the unofficial patches. Being unwilling to redo all the mod installation work I went ahead and installed both the unofficial and unofficial shivering isles right then. Then I noticed a few missing meshes. The thing is they weren't missing before the patches and now places like Weynon priory have giant yellow warnings and I know I don't have anything messing with that. I also walked into the home in the runestone village mod to find nearly every piece of furniture missing. I decided to uninstall the patches to see what that would do. After that failed I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but the data folder as well as most other things was still there before the reinstall and it didn't do anything. I don't think I have any mods that alter these objects, though I'm sure many use them because of how basic they are. I seem to be missing meshes for vanilla objects like chests, crates, and dressers as well as other outside objects. I don't think it was any of my mods, but here is the list anyway Oblivion.esmOscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esmVersion 1.33 DLCShiveringIsles.esp Book Jackets Oblivion.esp Bedrollsanyone.espDaggerfallbooks.espMoist - Gate Room.espMorrowindbooks.espWyverex's - Runes.esp WarriorBandages_V2.0.espRealSwords - Bosmer HI-NPC.esp RealSwords - Breton HI-NPC.esp RealSwords - Nord HI-NPC SI.espVersion 1.0 RealSwords - Orc HI_NPC v1.0.esp FF_Horse_Whistle.espOscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.espVersion 1.33 Better Hunting for OOO.esp Halcyon Island.esp300_Artifacts.esp Castle_Highrock.espVersion 1.1FF_WaldnirsWoods.espJagnot- Imperial City Library V1.3.espVersion 1.2 Jagnot-SI-Summitpoint House.espLostSwordOfTheAylied.esp nordinkarst_1.0.1_en.espThe Ranger's House.espSilentStonesCamp.espVersion 1.2Valenwood Improved.espza_bankmod.esp Knights.esp ElsweyrAnequina.esp Elsweyr plantations & co..esp Tales from Elsweyr Anequina.espVersion 2_9 ElsweyrValenwoodImprovedPatch.esp runestone.espVersion 2Vergayun.espVersion 1.0.7BravilSeaDomes.espbartholm.espVersion 7.0 Cliff_BetterLetters.espVersion 1.2 HelmetFOV.espP1DkeyChain.espVersion 5.00Borderless_Cyrodiil-3578.esp Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp RealisticForceMedium.espRealisticMagicForceHigh.espLevel Based Summon Cap.espsr_enhanced_magic_system.espVersion 0.84MidasSpells.esp Midas OscuroGems.espMidas Betterholy.espMidas Reduced Costs Quarter.esp Midas PowDur2x.esp Midas Eldrich Power 2x.espVersion 2x. I can't say that they all worked before this as I had only played a small amount, but I do know that there wasn't any problem before this. As I type this I realize I am exhausted, but because I want to have a fresh start in the morning I'd like to get this settled before I sleep so, there is a chance that this could be due to updating OOO to 1.33. It was 1.32 and at that point I knew it worked, but with wrye bash telling me I needed the .esm for two mods so I went ahead and updated it. I can't remember exactly, but it is possible that after updating it I installed the patches before playing so my blame may be placed on the wrong thing. I searched the net but could not find a situation that I thought was the same so I decided to post here to hopefully get some quick help from those who know more than my limited mod knowledge seeing as I'd rather not uninstall and delete everything and redo it which seems to be the only option left, to me. MShoap13
RefScope or Form ID Finder can be used to sniff out which mod the objects with missing meshes came from. After knowing which mods are broken by your botched install order, reinstall them and see if that fixes the issue. Bben's Oblivion Reinstall Procedure can be used to start from scratch if reinstalling mods on top of your current install doesn't work. Also, if you're on Window 7 or Vista and Oblivion is installed to the \Program Files\ directory it's highly recommended to go ahead and reinstall to an alternate location such as C:\Games\ to avoid issues caused by Windows UAC. I'd personally recommend using Revo Uninstaller to ensure all of the old registry entries are gone if you need to move Oblivion. Additionally, installing a few small mods or one overhaul at the time and then doing some in game testing before moving on is the preferred way to go about modding Oblivion. This avoids confusion as to what mods may be broken or conflicting and in the long run will save you a lot of time and headaches. eric31415
The order in which you install mods is nearly as important as the load order. The UOP needs to be installed fairly early, as many mods need to overwrite parts of it. For a thourogh explanation, as well as proper install order, check out the "mod installation" page at TESCOSI.
