Wondering why it is allowed for someone to vote for a file to be File of the Month

 

when they have never endorsed said file or even downloaded it.

 

(just experimentally tried on a newly uploaded file)

Yeah, surely if you vote for something you should have at least tried it out and and shown the author support by endorsing it :/

And the concept was attempted to verify that this is actually happening in FOTM voting.

You have to download a mod in order to endorse it, yes, but the OP is stating that it is possible to vote it as "file of the month" without ever downloading it.

It is possible and shockingly so.

Hopefully this will be addressed soon and patched up.

Either soon or when the new code gets implemented.
