sovereignbeast
Im looking for experienced modders for assistance on my project I want to create when Skyrim comes out. I very willingly admit that I am not much of a modder, but I wish for my dream to become a reality more than to preserve my pride. I will post more details if I see that I have caught anyone's attention. The project will require a creation of massive landscapes (a whole country to be precise) and environment creation is a must, a lot of the pieces will most likely have to be hand made, I would love to add voice to it, so anybody willing to voice act would be nice (though at the scale of the project, that will probably be quite a ways off), and people good with character animation (the smoother the better) and scripting would be nice. Think the Tamriel Rebuilt project, but only about 1/10 the size. Anybody interested in helping, or just wanting me to post more details, please leave a reply. Iv000
You should wait until you know some modding yourself. When you know quite a bit (The majority of what you would want to create) then ask again.I doubt that anyone would want to join a stranger without experience in creating a big mod. On the other hand, learning how to create mods is fun and you meet new people too!You can always ask if you don't know something, we will gladly help you out. Sorry if I'm being harsh, but truth is, every big mod that exists now is made by a team, and every one of them contributed big to the mod.I recommend you wait for Skyrim to release, then take the Creation Kit and learn the basics and create a few small mods yourself.Learn how to create new maps, how to place/create objects, NPC's etc. Then start working on your mod, when you have something worthy of showing, post it up, and I'm sure some people will be wiling to join.Good luck!
sovereignbeast
You were not being harsh, just honest. I know modding better than I let on (Im not real good), I can alter the game (create new cities, alter the landscape, create and link dungeons), but creating user generated content (making new items), scripting, animation, and changing the game mechanics are out of reach. I will heed your advice and study modding some more, but the invitation is still open for any modder wanting to attempt to make something great for Skyrim. bben46
Actually several of the very best large scale mods were made by a single person - It still takes a lot of work, but when (if) finished it is YOUR work and you don't have to argue over details with a team. (been there) For a few examples of large scale mods that include an extensive quest along with many new items and were each accomplished by ONE extremely talented modder. The Lost Spires, by LiquidGraph1Glenvar Castle by QuartzVerona House Bloodlines By DTom There are many more if you look for them.
