kingdark
I already tried to google it but I didn't find a good answer. The thing is, when I play oblivion my keys are set to a qwerty keyboard. I already checked my keyboard's languages and that came out right. I can open the console in game at the moment at the press of a button, but that's because its the wrong 'language' see. The key I'm pressing doesn't have the tilde button. That button appears to be to the left of the right shift key. Along with the = and + sign. Anyway, I'm hoping there's an easy way to change this and if so it will be good to know for the future! Thanks in advance! (I roughly checked the other topics and I didn't find a topic to this issue. I posted it here because it "is" a technical issue, just not something that crashes my game. bben46
You can use a key mapping program to change the key to whatever you want. On the US standard QWERTY keyboard the tilde '~' key is just to the left of the number 1 key on the top row. The scan code can vary depending on the keycode set used - most use set 1 and the keycode is h29 (hex) But there are several other sets that could be used. h0E, or h35 on some USB keyboards are possible. Here is an explanation of keycodes. With several international variants shown. http://www.quadibloc.com/comp/scan.htm
kingdark
what am I supposed to do with all that information? I mean it's interesting sure but it doesn't help me at all. Kingdark
Strobelight
What bben46 means is that you can use programs that change your computers registry so that it can map any key on your keyboard to the key you want. For example; if you don't have a 'tilde' key on your keyboard (probably because it is not the standard QWERTY UK/US keyboard) you can then use said program to map, for instance, 'Caps Lock' to the 'tilde' key instead. Click me - a good explanation on these types of programs with a link to a FreeWare program called 'SharpKeys' You can download SharpKeys here
