GardeniaSky
Hi my name is Jordan...I'm a 20 year-old fairly straight and attractive female who's been playing Oblivion since it came out. Now I'm pretty good with computers and installing mods, but I'm clueless as to how to use the construction set or I'd make this myself. You see, I have traversed the wide and infinite internet to find the perfect player castle for my adorable character, but I haven't been able to find a damn thing to suit me. Either they're TOO big, all looks with no cool function, or they're bland and little with some cool functions but leave me wanting more. I want an expansive, beautiful castle with a girly flair. I want it to have a secy feminine touch, but still keeping with the Oblivion feel. I want enough space to show off all my items, and I want beautiful magical gardens for my alchemy. I also have a pretty good sense of humor, so throwing some quirky stuff in there would be perfect. I'm just saying, I only want someone to take up this task if they'll have as much fun making it as I will playing it. Go ahead and message me on here if you have ideas. And anyone who's up to the task, thank you. I feel bad not being able to make it myself, but I'm sure there are modders out there that have more of the prowess needed to make my vision a reality. :)
Keirgarth
Have you tried Glenvar Castle? If so what was it lacking or what were it's faults compared to what you wanted? If not, give it a try, it is a pretty nice Castle IMHO. :)
Lanceor
It's true that most castles mods are rather masculine (after all, they're supposed to be military fortifications), but perhaps check Oblivion's Real Estate to see if they have something that you want. Perhaps you could also list the castle mods that you've already tried so maybe someone can offer further suggestions. If creating a castle is something that you'd like to do but don't know how to, I'm glad to report that with no prior modding experience, you can create your own custom player home from scratch within a week... and have fun decorating it exactly how you want it. Once you know how to do that, it's just a matter of making a bigger and better one that you can call a castle. ;-) Check out the tutorials here if you're interested. :-)
theuseless
Well then stay away from my mod, Castle Tharnstein. It is huge but not at all empty and has some scripted features in the working. It is not girly however, it is dark and evil. I'm not sure it would be classified as masculine either... I would recommend the Azure Palace, coupled with Castle Seaview. The two are technically incompatible, but only take up similar landscape areas. They work just fine together in game. Seaview is a large historical looking castle, and Azure palace is a wonderful palace full of lush gardens. Azure also has a lot of attention to the placement of objects within it. Emptiness is intolerable. Glenvar Castle is great, but I have never gotten it to be bug free. It is old and has many flaws, I can't even get into it without cheating the first step of the puzzle. I would like to see the Cloud City project finished, I almost did the work myself. Frostcrag reborn is a great wizard's tower. It is asexual in design, good for either sex, and any race. It does however require SI and the original Frostcrag dlc. You might also want to check the player homes section and search within it for the word "garden" it might help. If you want to show off your goods (lol), I would get reznod's mannaquins. It needs some new skins, but will pose and place where and how you want. Just make sure to check the path grid (console command tpg) to make sure that you are placing on a path grid. They like to snap to the closest path grid, sometimes very far from where you want them.
