CapWanta
Hello and good night fellow wanderers. Just now I was pondering the absolute coolness that is the ballistic fist, I mean I deals great damage, looks very good and it's a very interesting and amusing concept. All of this thinking got me to this question. I there a mod that allows you to use the Ballistic fist as normal gun as well as a hand-to-hand weapon? Imagine my surprise when my search all over the web turned out empty handed! I coudn't believe it, I refused to believe it! Of all things that are brilliant and awesome that could have been made by equally brilliant and awesome modders, there is not a complete Ballistic fist mod! If I knew how to mod, I'd be working on it right about now, but hey, I don't know anything about modding nor do I have the scripting skills this mod would take. All I can offer is a challenge to any moders out there willing to make this happen, so if anyone's interested on taking this project i am sure the endorsments and the appraisals will be many. The idea in itself is quite simple, the execution however, might proove a bit difficult: -First you must create an alternative Ballistic fist that behaves pretty much like a sawed-off shotgun in terms of stats and ammo usage, that said it would be convinient to substantially reduce it's spread so it's a more reasonable choise for mid-range combat while reducing overall damage a bit as to balance things out (yet I think it should remain as a very powerfull weapon). -There must be a "swtich" button that changes the unarmed version for the guns one without going into the inventory to equip/unequip. Of course, one (the player) could simply bind both verssions of the weapon to different hotkeys as to create the illusion that they are in fact the same item, but this is not a very clean way to do things. This, I think it would require extensive scripting and NVES to merge both versions into a single item or at least implement them in a smooth way into the gameplay. The shooting animation might be, well that might be tricky, I guess it could use the poses and animations of the 10mm pistol or something; Later on, an animator could create something along the lines of a megaman-like stance (or something like Ezio Auditore from Assassin's creed series). So yeah, full head-on, multi-purpose action ballistic fist mod. I hope i've caught someone's interest in this.

huntsman2310a
You want to turn an unarmed weapon into a gun? What... Dude, the ballistic fist has two shotgun barrels on top of it connected to a pressure plate, I think it may be really easy to turn that into a very short range but very cheap and strong shotgun. CapWanta
Except that a weapons can't be 2 different types at the same time... I am actually working on that right now, a proof of concept I expect to release tonight after testing it out. It will be a weightless (the idea being, it's the same item as your Ballistic fist, you just quick switch it with hotkeys), guns version of the Ballistic fist called "Arm Cannon Mode" it uses only in-game resources and animations. Shooting it would be like if the BF is a piece of armor and the user is pretending to be holding a pistol with it, it makes a bit of sense since the BF is built to function with the pressure plate. the stats would be pretty much like the unique big boomer sawn-off shotgun, maybe with a bit less spread as I mentioned. Thats not a duel type weapon, it's 2 different weapons using a script to swap it out. My statement still stands, you can't make a single weapon simultaneously have 2 different weapon types. However, this above would be good way to give the "illusion" of having a duel type weapon though. The only draw back is the inability to quickly switch damage modes in a fight. krimzin
I know this can somehow be done. I remember for fallout 3 earache42 made that eXcalibr mod and you could bind a key that changed firing modes. Essentially if you pushed "G" you could go from assault rifle to grenade launcher. It played a reload animation for a different weapon so it looked like you were flipping a lever, and somehow it would swap the old weapon out with a new one (without making it completely obvious) that fired grenades. You'd have to ask him how he did it.

But it's probably way too much work than its worth.
Sunnie
I saw an animation, I didn't see any melee damage being done. /skeptical
