  1. 1. Favorite DLC?

So what was your favorite DLC and which was your least favorite? Explain why if you want.

My favorite is Lonesome Road. Despite the fact that The Divide was hard to traverse and those toppled buildings and missile silos. It revealed a lot about the Courier and Ulysses. The ending had so many options too, giving the choice to either nuking the NCR and/or Caesar's Legion, and being able to explore the ruins, or have ED-E sacrifice himself to disarm the missile. Killing Ulysses or not, et cetera. The items you get at the end were the awesome.

My least favorite is, like most people, Dead Money. Dead Money was way too linear, and exploring would most likely lead to a path of bear traps and ghost people. The ending was great, but those damn, gold bars, they usually make you drop most of your stuff, and when you go to sell them, you have to sell them cheap because without the Sink Central Intelligence Unit, (which usually has up to 24,000 caps when trading and is only in the Old World Blues DLC) you're pretty much regretting that you dropped all of your stuff.

Honest Hearts was good, the scenery was great. It was nice not seeing radiated craters fora change.

Old World Blues was hilarious, sexual innuendos everywhere. The benefits of completing it were great.

Overall. Lonesome Road was challenging and fun. Dead Money was frustrating, and Honest Hearts and Old World Blues were good.

OWB was definitely my favorite. Lonesome Road has some good back story but some of the other main story line stuff did not like but wont go into details because of spoilers. Dead Money sucked and HH was fun but short.

I'm really torn between Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road. I love the DLCs for the additional story/lore they provide and I feel these two brought the most to the table in that respect. I wound up voting for HH because it's pretty D: I wish I could vote twice.

LR, OWB, DM are great. HH stupid game play and quests. liked the rain but it just didn't feel right, needed a town or something

1. LR - what post-apocalyptic buildings and urban areas should look like... the over-passes, buried buildings and crumbling buildings

2. OWB - best dialogue, some science facilities could have been larger... but hey, it's a DLC. the forbidden zone was a big disappointment. could and should have had something more than one big robo-scorpion

3. DM - most under-rated... if you're a hardcore gamer and not a p****y this is a unique challenge... but the casino part... holograms not difficult enough to turn off... most people complain about the gold bars, but it's pretty clear in the foreshadowing... "letting go!" right Dean!

4. HH - worst DLC in the history of gaming ! Ricky hilarious NPC and The Survivorist's story was epic... but the game play and quests are over before it starts and the trek to kill the While Legs was dumb. Where's New Canaan anyways? why the heck this DLC does not have New Canaan was a major mistake

HH was still open world and you could explore it. I don't think the point of HH was for the quests, it was for the exploration.

DM was completely terrible. It wasn't that is was hard, it was that it was entirely liner and was extremely boring to walk around the exact same alleyways to get to certain areas.

1. LR: Havent bought LR yet(Will when courier's stash and GRA come out.) but just from reading the items you got (finally jet becomes useful for people who play in Real time!!!) the perks(*scream* Lonesome Road and lvl 50 perks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the weapons(AUTOMATIC FREAKING ROCKET LAUNCHER!!!!!) the fact that you can launch nukes or stop them(Yea!!! much less in this tag though...) and the special flag trench coat you get(Fell in love with it before i even say it when i saw the art on the cover of LR.) i think ill like it very much.

2.OWB: My Favorite so far open world, hilariousness, Science themed, Awesome house, and interesting weapons. Plus we finally got to fight securitrons in more then 1 small fight that you could just run from.

3. DM: Highly under-rated heh Well if youve played Dead Space and liked it and are observant enough to see the similarities(Must dismember enemies, atmospheric dangers, always taking orders from a holograph showing some guys head.) then im sure youll like it too.

4. HH: It gets old after awhile but the environment is the best. It also had the best weapons and perks but i think LR will surpass that. The quest does suck and is missing many RP elements but HH was really just a beautiful environment. Oh and Randall Clark's story is epic. Also i find that the elements that carry over to the Mojave make up for the bad story line for me to say it wasnt a waste.

Lonesome road has a tie for best DLC storyline and Ulysseys is almost as good as he should have been, very little improvement needed. BUt the rest of lonesome road is complete s***. "How can we make this DLC harder than the others? I know well throw swarms of death claws, and faster smaller deathclaw like creatures at them, and add explosive mines with a 1 second detonation so they are forever tossing grenades around to clear the path." Yea this does not make a game more difficult. Especially not when your handing out top tier weapons on every drop and box in the area. This DLC was even easier than Honest Hearts.

Now that Aside, again I would say Lonesome Road, and Dead Money tie for storyline and plot development. Not to mention character design. Now Old World Blues is quite a bit challenging and added a unique morbid humor to it all. As for Honest Hearts, well this just failed completely. Its an ok storyline, not worth a entire DLC on its own. The characters are unintersting, they completely ruined Graham as he could have been and should have been so much more. Now the environment was fairly nice and a great change of pace, brought out a rich vibrant life landscape compared to the empty desert, the rotting villa, the FO3/Pitt nostalgia of the divide, and the wacky techno brightness of the big empty. I really wish they had added more to this storyline, like a chance to bring your favorite faction into control it, be it NCR, Legion, House, Brotherhood, or Enclave. Or of course to take it for yourself.

So my list is:

Dead Money/ Lonesome Road (tie)

Old World Blues

Hello Kitty island adventure

Honest Hearts

Haven't played LR yet, and just goin' from my thoughts on my first playthrough of the other 3:

1. DM - character development was absolutely first rate; no easy feat for a DLC. Each character was so tragic I literally got choked up. I was totally drawn into the (very good) storyline because of it.

2. OWB - not too far behind DM. I loved the world space especially. Storyline was great; loved how it tied into DM and the Mojave so well. A bit overdone on the fetch quests one after another. The subtle Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference when you splice the Mr. Gutsy and the human into a Robobrain still cracks me up

3. HH - I liked the open feeling of the world space and the rain was a nice touch (I don't run any weather mods, so I really liked that.) Storyline was a little underdone and, again, too much fetching.

I can't say I disliked any of the DLC's, I thought each one was worth the $. Lookin' forward to playing LR.

  • 2 weeks later...

Played all of them, and I personally like all of them (But some more than others of course.).

1. LR- Really liked the build up to this DLC, I thought Ulysses was a really interesting character and I personally didn't mind the linear path you had to take.

2. OWB- This mod was pretty funny, although a bit too silly in my opinion.

3. HH- Liked being able to meet with Joshua Grahm, I thought both Joshua and Daniel were pretty interesting characters.

4. DM- This is kind of meh to me, but considering it was Obsidians first DLC for new vegas you have to cut them some slack.
