Ghoulz
He has it noted to create a bashed patch for this but I don't know if that's manditory or not, or what it even means... or does. Can someone explain this please if they know what this is about?

Can someone explain this please if they know what this is about? The Bashed Patch is necessary because the mod replaces vanilla graphics and inventories. The patch will pull everything together so that the new graphics will show correctly, and the inventories will contain the altered items instead of the vanilla ones. That is what the author is referring to with the % {{BASH: Graphics, Invent}} tags -- these are used by Wrye Bash when making the Bashed Patch. Ghoulz
So there's a difference between this and some simple mesh replacer? Shame.

The only difference is that this mod replaces vanilla stuff, THAT is why the Bashed Patch is necessary. I don't see why it is a shame.

That's not considered a replacement? The problem with replacers is that when more than one mod is installed you start to get conflicts. The purpose of the Bashed Patch is to resolve any conflicts by including changes into the patch. If you have a replacer that does not conflict with any other mod it is, of course, possible to use it without a Bashed Patch. A heavily modded Oblivion is very rarely free of conflicts, however. The mod in question needs a Bashed Patch for the inventories especially.
Ghoulz
What do you mean by inventories?
Hickory
What do you mean by inventories? For the purpose of this game and this topic, an inventory is a container. Your inventory is a container. A shopkeeper's inventory is a container. A dead rat's body is a container; an inventory. So an inventory is the place where items are stored. This mod alters Rhossan's vendor (shop) inventory, adding the items for sale. That is why it needs a patch. If it was a new, unique inventory it would not need a patch. Changing vanilla inventories needs a patch.

Wonder why the author didn't just do that, isn't it much more simple? Edited September 22, 2011 by Ghoulz

With textures a simple archive invalidation usually suffices. The author decided to make the items for sale by a shop vendor, that's why a simple mesh replacement will not work.
