They said there wouldn't be mobile boats in the game, they said nothing of stationary boats.I wouldn't mind slaying some more pirates if they're in game. After they said no the interviewer asked if there were any boats at all .. even ones that didn't move then they were met with another "no" .. but hey .. they have added a lot to the game in the past few months since they seem like they were very ready for the release date .. who knows.
