Whats in Psycho?

Well my mod(Found here:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=43473) will soon be getting an update involving lore friendly chem crafting. Now the reason this isnt in mod talk is because i can handle the mod part i just cant exactly think of any ingredients for psycho. Psycho seems like its derived from an opiate so Med-X might be a start but id prefer more raw ingredients.

The Vault Wiki says:

"Psycho appears to be a form of injected drug composed of strange, unknown chemicals of military origin, that comes with its own unique delivery system. It was designed at the orders of General Constantine Chase and was supposed to increase the combat potential of a soldier, whilst dampening higher mental functions, making for fearless, but uncontrollable troops"

So maybe mentats could be in it.

While Mentants could be easily cocaine, Psycho's description make it sounds like crack, often used by various gang soldiers. Still, as it's combat drug developed for millitary use so it origin may be completely unpredictible.

For example LSD-based drug was tested on military pilots as potential way to for them to performe 24h+ long flights without co-pilot.

Sounds like amphetamine to me. :)

its basicly steroids IMO, gives you a heightened reflex and aggression while impairing your ability to think.

Wow that was terrible. Dont get into pharmaceutical :)

Amphetamines are like mentats. In fact im sure mentats are amphetamine...

Steroids dont fit the bill..though they may make you short tempered they dont have any of the other effects of psycho nor does psycho contain the other effects of steroids.

Buffout is kinda like steroids...but...the mod uses a different chemical for that anyway.

Neither Rad-X nor Med-X makes sense. Rad-X is anti-radiation, in the real world this could be potassium iodide. Med-X is like morphine. And Psycho neither reduces radiation, nor it protects you from damage.

Go see the original Fallout 3.

Rad-X has...psychological effects in long term use.

You are aware that Morphine(Med-x isnt like morphine it is morphine) is an opiate right?

Psycho is some sort of psycho-active downer which is why i threw out Med-x and rad-x because they have similar side-effects plus it wouldnt be med-x and rad-x in a syringe they are just raw ingredients.

However after doing some research i came to a new conclusion.

1. Datura: A very special drug with very special violence inducing effects that fit Psycho perfectly. Thank God for Honest Hearts! It requires a lot of it.

2. Med-X: A downer is required to boost the feel of "being unstoppable" and unlike an upper it allows the soldier to be more easily controlled by somewhat calming him down. However Med-X is a chem in itself and i prefer using raw ingredients so if im able to make a sedative out of materials already ingame i will use that instead and it would also open up the option for Steady(which is diazapam more commonly known as valium).

Thoughts?

Good choice, looked into it and Datura is not a evolved plant, meaning it comes from long before the war, centuries old really.

However none of its current forms of use imply a similar effect, it either hardens the skin, cures poison, or is a poison itself.

None of the ingredients used to cook up meth have the effects that meth does.

But when mixed with each other they do.

Datura is a very smart choice, but as for the other.... I really can't think of anything.
