Why are there ammo packs with Gatling weapons?

Isn't the point of an ammo pack to feed ammo via a belt from the pack to the weapon in question?

What is the point of it if you have to reload the ammo through an ammunition box?

Game Mechanic issue. THe max ammo in use that any gun in the game can currently use is 255 that power pack would likely hold a bunch more. The other issue is both rigging and model work. Having a belt or Power cord in the case of the Gatling Laser run from the pack to the weapon would likely just float there and not animate with the player at all.

Then... what was the point of including an ammo pack at all? They could have just omitted it in the first place to save time and space.

Just for looks really, kind of this is the direction we where going but never could really do properly.

Yes but I only know of the ones for FO3, just look up remove back pack.

For the cyberdog gun.

 

There is a mod that removes it for everything else but i cant find it on the nexus.

 

It also has a nasty glitch of making 5mm rounds have an invisible world model but meh its not like you cant just purchase a few thousand from the gun runners right?
