A player home based off of Bleaker's Way Goodwill Inn...

So Im very new here, and I have been through the forums quite a few times looking for the perfect house mod for my character... I know what I *want* but I have no experience with modding, like... at all.

I have a huge crush on the Bleaker's Way Goodwill Inn (Yes, Im a strange little person lol) and I am wanting to adapt it as a player home, nested somewhere within the triangle made by Gottlesfont Priory, Molag Bal's Shrine, and Brindle Home.

I think it would make an awesome little cottage all redecorated... Something warm and cosy, with a slightly rustic feel, but also an edge for magic.

The bottom floor all set up as a living, dining area... The first room as a study/alchemy area, the second a bedroom... I imagine the attic area could be good for storage and such...

My character, Teak, is a wood elf with barbarian leanings... Her favorite pass times are sneaking up on, and raiding bandit camps... She spends a lot of time hunting and bouncing about the woods and mountains as well... She is a nature critter at heart, but has a love for beautiful things...

(Would it help if I told you that my favorite decorated house is the Gweden Farm? I love the red walls!)

I am pretty sure that I cannot do this myself... as a matter of fact, Im not sure my computer would allow it :/

I have downloaded and installed a number of home mods (Including Silver Leaf Camp) that I love... But this is the house I dream of when I dream of modding LOL

Any help would be... most certainly appreciated :)

Thank you in advance... and please, keep in mind that I am very new to this mod stuff :)

As long as you take it slowly without skipping steps, building a perfect player home is actually very easy! The hard part for many is the creative side - how to arrange the interior and lighting to make it look warm and home-like, but from your description, it sounds like you'll have no problems in this regard.

There's some easy to follow tutorials at TESA. They'll take you step-by-step from installing the Construction Set all the way to building your first player home. Some people who have never modded before report that the tutorials helped them to create their first house mod within a few hours, so it might be worth your while to check it out.

Hi Lanceor :)

I have been working with the construction set for just long enough to know that... Im going to be doing this one house for about three years LOL

(I have the TESA site up as we type)

Im not so good at working with the CS yet LOL... I copied the interior of the Bleakers way Inn, and deleted all of the clutter, furniture, and people... (So, at least I got that far LOL)

The problem I am having is getting the furniture and things where I want them... So far I have floating bed (That wont come back down to the floor) and two doorways that are.... sooooooo not where they are supposed to be!

I guess it is possible to move the whole interior up and down, but not the objects themselves?

Im sure I will get there... someday :/

To move objects you just hold down one of the axis keys and move the mouse with the left mouse held. Make sure that when you press the left mouse button, that the pointer is on the object you wish to move. The axis keys are x, y and z. These also work when trying to rotate an object. If an object is floating, you can hit the f key and it will fall to the floor or the top of what ever is under it. If it is already on top of something, it might fall through, so be careful. Sounds like you're getting there - all of us modders went through this stage when we opened up the CS for the first time. :) The CS isn't the most intuitive at first, but once you get the hang of panning, zooming and moving things in three dimension, it gradually becomes instinctive. Give it a day or two.

Awesome, thank you so much!

I think I have everything figured out but rotating objects... Heck, I even put the doors back where they belong!
