Hello there

I reinstalled my Fallout 3 GOTY trough STEAM on my second PC, i remember i had the same issue last time, but cant' remember how i solved it..

Whenever i try to start a "New" game (press the button) it crashes CTD.

System is a Q9650 with 4GB RAM, Win7 64 bit.

GPU is a GTX560

What i tryed so far is:

-Added it to fddshow excemptions

-Deleted, changed the .ini file (Multi core issue)

-Run as administrator

-Downloaded the "hacked" d3d9.dll

-Disabled Areo

No luck so far..

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Yup, that's what I meant - been troubleshooting Oblivion too much.

Are you starting the game through steam? By clicking on the game in the steam games list in your steam account?

Not sure if it has anything to say, but if you have your steam games placed in the

program (86) folder, that has been known to cause problems.

Moving steam and your games is easy enough. I cant find the link with the procedure

atm, but it is on the official steam forums.

And if you have not done so, install FOSE+FOMM (Fallout mod manager)

Hope it helps,

Cheers,

BMD

-Downloaded the "hacked" d3d9.dll

When you tried using that, did you also try deleting:

SMainMenuMovieIntro=

SIntroSequence=

sIntroMovie=Fallout INTRO Vsk.bik

from your fallout.ini? (You can also rename Fallout INTRO Vsk.bik in your Data\Video folder to Fallout INTRO Vsk.bik.old to ensure it doesn't load)
