Todd Howard, game director and executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios, has said that the improvements made in their upcoming RPG sequel, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, are just as significant as Oblivion was to Morrowind.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Howard said that the level of changes made were "about the same.”

That basically infers that its being mainstreamed. And, regardless of which you prefer, Oblivion or Morrowind, if he declares well and truly and Oblivion was an improvement on Morrowind, then to say that Skyrim is an improvement on Oblivion means that it will be mainstreamed even more so.

What the fudge Todd?!?!

Well, I can't wait for Skyrim, but at the same I fear Skyrim. Guess we'll have to see. Let's hope that the big inovations are things like separate control of each hand, the nice looking spellcasting... the way skills are obtained... And not "Opening the game world to casual users"(Read as making the game so simplistic, that retarded monkeys can play it) or " We plan on screwing PC players cos we don't care about them.".

Well, as I said, we can only hope, no?

I think your thinking in to it to much the game will be epic don't worry you gonna love it and your gonna play it for months I for one did like oblivion more than morrowind

Your tag made me lol, and then get really upset for a brief moment.

And maybe, but a lot of what has come out, particularly recently has pointed in this direction...

You're worrying too much.

Yes, Skyrim is being streamlined, but it's not being dumbed down.

It's now designed to appeal to a larger audience, but at the same time it won't scare off the previous RPG loving audience away.

TES games are not meant to be complicated, they are meant to have huge explorable worlds, with tons of side quests, items and NPC's.

Look at my signature. You should see what I'm talking about.

technology wise it was a huge improvement so i dont see the problem here.

I agree. Improvements include things like graphics, combat mechanics, and a diversified voice cast as well. The same statement could have been made with no intention of referencing any "mainstreaming" that was done.

These types of comments are not meant to be read into by the fanbase .. they are press releases and made so that "joe gamer" sees it and thinks "oh! .. I remember oblivion .. its was that massive RPG a few years back that my friends talked about .. derp.. I like vikings too <:P"

The obsessive dragon marketing and simple quick quotes like these are made for the general gamer and not the fans .. your reading way way WAY to much into it.
