Skyrim- Make a Skill Game

Come up with and design a skill- this can be crafting, combat, magic, stealth related, or any general purpose skill(i.e. athletics, acrobatics.)

It would help to sort this into one of the three catorgories,

The Warrior-

The Mage-

The Thief-

Just as Bethesda has done for Skyrim.

Personally, if I was the designer for character progression and development, there would have been more skills and a fourth archtype, for just general skills. The Pilgrim, The Adventurer, The Peasant,.. idk what it would be called, but it would be there for skills that DONT level up the character.

So feel free to use that as a catorgory as well.

Transformation - Mage - The art of taking the form of other creatures that you have killed

Necromancy - Mage - The art of raising and controlling the dead. (Not so original, but I figured it deserved a mention)

Rogue - Thief - The art of dodging/evasion and being able to disguise oneself as another.

Cooking/Survival - ? - The art of getting and acquiring food.

Mycology - Mage - The fungal arts, able to acquire special abilities and buffs from mushrooms and other fungi. (Could be combined with Survival?)

Machining - Combat/Thief? - The art of tinkering with, creating, altering, and disabling machinery, i.e. those of the Dwemer.

Bloodsmithing - Mage - The art of manipulating the blood of one's enemy to cause pain or to control. (Could maybe incorporate into necromancy?)

More to come maybe. :) I really wish we could add some of these in...

Vampirism - Combat? - Leveled up only by being a vampire, covers perks etc. of being a vampire.

Mounting - Combat - The art of riding horses and other tamable creatures like unicorns and sh*t. ;)

-Some kind of druid-like skill about befriending animals, can't come up with a name right now. Could merge with Mounting...

Beastmastery- befriending wild animals, ability to control said animals, perks include power ups for befirended animals and whatnot.

I am not so sure about making vampirism itself a 'skill'

but maybe a skill(s) related to being a vampire, only accessable as a vampire.

Ventriloquism - Stealth? - You can use the ventriloquism skill to throw your voice into someone else's mouth. Use it to make NPCs say things like "The Jarl of Whiterun likes it up the bum!" and watch the guards slaughter them afterwards!

im sold on this idea! someone make it a mod, quick!

@Natelovesyou: I really like the idea of that Machining skill.

I would merge it with the Lockpicking skilltree, making that tree more interesting than just involving the picking of locks. Being able to create beartraps and the like would be awesome.

Poisoned beartraps... mmm...

I really want this one. I love being able to transform into different creatures in games.

I liked some of the skills a vampire got in one of the mods. I cant remember who it was made by now but if you kept your blood supply up you could transform into a bat, wolf or mist, or disguise your vampiric looks. It would be good to be able to do this but I dont think it will be in the vanilla game.

Rather than add new skills as I am one of those guys that would rather have less skills but have them more robust I would like to see even more specialization via perks. At the moment you can get perks to say increase shock damage for destruction or sword critical hits for twohanders but I would like to take that to the next level. I would like to see even more specialization like certain spells requiring certain perks, for instance a player specced to be a lightning caster gets Fingers of the Mountain or you need to have the fire specialization perk to obtain Enemies Explode. Another example is Conjuration being able to specialize between Necromancy, Daedric summoning, or Druid like summonings (bears, wolves, imps, nature spirits). Would also like to see all the skills fleshed out across the board to offer more variety like the option to spec into crossbows or bows for archery or swords, axes, maces, and polearms for twohanded. Lastly would like to see utility things like transmutation or levatation.

eh,... Bethesda has always had a thing with 'anyone can do anything'... and your idea sounds borderline to breaking that rule,.. too many requirements=bad
