MasterYster
Hey this is MasterYster here. I had a quick question on how to effectively extract BSAs via a custom installer (made in visual basic) automatically. For example, you run the installer and without prompting you, it extracts a BSA to a predetermined location.
Shantih
Not sure if that's what you want but you could try the FO3 Archive Utility.http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34 It's not automatic per se but you can choose where you want to extract your files. MasterYster
What I require is more of a command or something in which I can execute a command without having to open up another program.
davidlallen
It seems you only need to extract files from the bsa one time, ever. Why do you want to do it from inside some other program?
MasterYster
for an installer for a mod
davidlallen
Your goal is to make a self-extracting installer which is an "exe", and when the user runs the exe it automatically puts the bsa file and the esm file into New Vegas/data. Is that correct? There are free tools which make installers for you (sometimes with an ad). These will do what you want. If you want to make your own Windows 7 program, I don't think modders here will be able to help; you could ask on a Windows 7 email list. (But they will probably point you to the free tools.) MasterYster
The issue I have is that I need to have this extracting function linked in with the other functions of my current installer. I do not want the BSAs just to move to a certain folder (I can already do that) but I need them EXTRACTED to a predetermined foolder
davidlallen
Why do you care whether the bsa's are extracted? Can't you just leave them as bsa?
