ValKillMORE Posted October 2, 2011 Share Posted October 2, 2011 I like Project Nevada but as a Controller user I dislike that there is no Controller support for hotkeys.If they where to however allow support there is not enough buttons on the controller to support something of that magnitude. There are third party programs that support controller by disabling the controller and simulating the keyboard and mouse but the inventory and pipboy and menus become tedious and unfriendly. So Main Emphasis is to give more complicated action controls while still maintaining the user friendly menu interface for controllers. There are several options: Allow a mod that disables the xbox active buttons in the game such as walking and shooting, but still allows menu navigation and inventory use. This will allow the user to use a third party program such as pinacle for the action part of the game without it interfering with the menus Pipboy or inventory. So still maintaining the use of controller for menus but allowing the third party program to take over for walking shooting and so on. Another would be to simulate the trigger effect that the controller uses for menus and hotkey it to the keyboard also hotkeying esc as back for menus. Switches the wsad to arrows (can be done in game menu). Using a controller you navigate through the menu from left to right using the bumper, a problem with virtual keyboard is that there is no trigger hotkey so the only way to switch inventories is to use the right analog which is set to mouse and move it slowly around the screen until achieving the desired outcome. So basicly adding the controller trigger menu option to keyboard thus allowing complete use of pinacle and allowing more user friendly use for menus and inventory. Last would be to MOD the game controller system a revamping the system and changes would be as follows Pipboy would be selectWait would be Hold selectLeft anolog button would be sprintRight analog button would be grabsneak would be BStealth Field would be hold BJump would be AReload would be XHolster would be hold XActivate would be YNight vision would be Hold YGrenade would be left bumperBullet time would be Right bumperADS would be hold Right bumper Now Direction Hats would be the same Xcept you would have to change down to switch grenade or switch in pipboy (A nominal sacrifice) Now zoom would have to change the Analog buttons because you are not going to sprint or grab things while looking down the scope so...Left Analog (while holding left trigger) would be zoom inAnd Right Analog (while holding left trigger) would be zoom out So what I am proposing with Project Nevada is a mod to add to data to enable better controller support. So if someone can do it or tell me what files I can mod basicly which file I would have to use if I would have to use geck which lines of coding I would have to look at. I would be so happees P.S.
