shadowtorque
We all know oblivion by itself is a good game but with the brilliant mods that have come out it is just amazing and adds new depth to the storyline; I noticed one question everyone has been asking their favorite modders. Will you create a similar mod like this for Skyrim. Well tesnexus community I created this topic so you can post if your favorite mods are making the moves to make those who are not excited enough about 11.11.11 completely fanatical and those who are waving their Skyrim flags around the room faint with anticipation, or possibly to make the day go quicker. Go ahead post. ^_^ P.s: By the way I'm one of the people waving their skyrim flags. Edited October 3, 2011 by shadowtorque
elvinkun
...More people travelling on the roads. In case those will be so extremely deserted as in Oblivion. :D Actually it's hard to say what, since its not really known what features will Skyrim have. ub3rman123
I'm hoping more people will ask permission before porting mods. New Vegas was a banfest because people didn't think they needed permission.
Stormcrown
I'm wondering how portable mods will be, considering its a different game engine...
ub3rman123
Armor/clothing is the easiest to do. They've confirmed that they'll still be using the .nif format, so hopefully minor skeleton changes are all that would be needed. Probably the hardest would be content mods like dungeons, though those should stay in their native game anyways because it's no fun running through something twice like that. Eh, not really.Even in between Oblivion and Fallout/NV, conversion requires re-rigging the armor to the skeleton (unless you use that oblivion/Fallout skeleton combo that some modder made....that thing was a miracle). When it comes to rigging armor/clothing, file format never matters, it's all about how the skeleton is set up. And seeing the difference between Oblivion and Skyrim, it's obvious that the skeletons are drastically different.
scot
Don´t forget that we can also adjust the characters muscles in game, so I suppose changing more than usual will be require so the armour also adjusts to the body. Stormcrown
Because of the changes to animation they spoke of, I'd assume that there are some MAJOR changes to skeletons.
ub3rman123
Still, it's easier and more legal than any other modding. Consider me as terming it relatively easy. Try porting something like Midas Magic and see how much more difficult it is.
