madgamer
I, like most of you reed the terms and agreed to them before posting on the "Big B' OB forum. I found threads that to me did not meet the vary rules they set out to post there. I know that the final choice is theres but to me there seems to be a "if it says something bad about Bethesda ", then it islocked up. I believe in the free exchange of ideas in forums such as this and the"Big B" and if they are locked because of things said about the company or its policy then I think it is time to change forums for this player at least. It is sad because there are some great player's there who will go out of there way to help you even if its the same thing over and over again. It is there web site and there forum and there right to block anything they want but it still is a sad day at least for this gamer. I will spend time here as my future on that web forum is most likely in danger of being allowed to go on. Lawrence
Sypron
A quote from Todd Howard:"We always expect criticism; that comes with doing any piece of entertainment and putting it out there. I expect it and welcome it, it’s the main thing that makes us want to make things better the next time. We also know it’s coming, because we change so much between games that you’ll certainly upset some people, it happens every time. I mean the changes from Daggerfall to Morrowind were just enormous, and we really heard it then. If people don’t like something in the game, and they spent their money on it, they deserve to female dog, and that’s one of the reasons our forums exist, honestly. I think it’s our responsibility to take it. You probably don’t know this, but I do have a “don’t defend us” rule to the team regarding the forums. If someone doesn’t like something in our games, they are right, always. It is their money, their opinion, and they don’t need or want you to change it. Plus, I do believe the world is 0 for 1 zillion in internet forum opinion change. " I hardly think that they would close a thread for people complaining about bethesdas games, Todd says he wants people to do that. However, if people are complaining about bethesda the company, then that is just rude and the thread should be locked. The bethesda forums are there to discuss the games, not the company. Povuholo
A sad day at Bethesda's Forums was when they censored RPGCodex for their Oblivion review, because not only was it negative, but when the review was posted on the official forums people started to agree. Linking to the RPGCodex on the official forums is now forbidden, and if you type 'RPGCodex' in a post until recently it would've changed it to 'I really like Oblivion'. Now it just says [censored]. The Review.
TheTerminator2004
There are reasons I don't post at the Official forums. This is one of them.
Legendary Slyther
So the Bethesda Softworks forums you're saying is locked up because of the company policy? That sucks..
TheLastIstari
It happens with practically every big gaming company. They get successful, they start to get hot air in their head and can't take criticism, so they get rid of Freedom of Speech. It's happened before. When I used to play Runescape (admit it, you all did at one point) the Jagex forums were unbelievable, it blatantly said in the rules "No discussion of other MMOs, no saying 'X game is better than Runescape'" As offensive as it may sound, there never really was a such thing as Freedom of Speech. TheLastIstari
And to be honest, as for those terms and conditions, I never bother reading them. Usually because the rules at most of the forums I go to just basically say when summed up; "Use common sense"
