arrenmog
when a high level (or any) simply go to prison alot so you loose loads of stats till there at about 0-5 then gain them up again and i pretty sure you dont loose levels when you loose stats in prison. this means you should be able to get a high level character, without cheating (kind of) i can't be arsed to try this but im sure it would work and be fun going on rampages killing everyone in town. if anyone does or has tried can you let me know if it works. Malchik
It works but since the skills you lose in prison are not necessarily your major skills it can take a hell of a long time. I think, if you choose your skills etc. carefully you should be able to get to level 67 in the game anyway but I may be wrong.
OlafHelmsborg
what's the standard level anyhow? i mean, surely there is one all can reach - i'm slightly concerned i've messed up somewhere and won't level up past 22! oh, I've heard the maximum level is 255, if you keep going to prison and retraining... though don't hold me by word on that, it's only what I've been thold! WoogieMonster
You are correct, the max level is 255. From what I hear it is only possible by using the console command (I have over 600 hours and still in double-digits) and if you save your game it will be ruined because only your level will change, your stats remain the same. You'd have to use the console again to change it back.
Bronzehorse2
What console command are you talking about
WoogieMonster
Press the tilde key to open the console then type player.setlevel and then a number and press enter. You will level up to that number, and so will all the deadra and other creatures, but YOU will still be as weak as you were before. You'll have a high level but with low stats. The deadra WILL have the stats.

WoogieMonster
Yes, it works in reverse also. If you lower your level your stats will remain unchanged. The only place I have found this cheat useful is in the Oblivion gates. You can raise your level to get a good stone then lower it back to normal after you close the gate. austinrocks
Actually 255 is not the limit for level, it is the limit for skills, however 100 is the game limit for skills, and once your there you can not advance your level without cheating, I am currently at 257 for my level. I used the console command modpca luck # where # gets the skill down to a small number, the max luck level is 255, and if you go past that it starts a 0 again. once I had my luck at a small number I typed the console command advlevel this brings up the level up screen, and the level advances, you have to have a skill that you can advance, once the skills reach 100 you can not advance anymore. but you can use the modpca <skill> # to change it back under 100. I just did this last night, and as I said I got my level to 257, I wanted to know if the limit was 255 or not, and I know its beyond 255 since I am at 257. I use the modpca SKILL # to get the skills up to 255 which is the limit, the game limit is 100, and I notice that 255 does have an effect, I see it in strength being abe to carry 1200 lbs of equipment, with it at a 100 I can only carry 750 or so. I can use the console command modpcs Blade # to cheat those up to 255 as well, this is for the stuff on the page for stuff like handtohand, mysticism, destruction, and such. austinrocks
I tried the player.setlevel 1-255, I believe that is the same level that you change in the options menu, it would not change the level of my character.
