ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated problem

Rainmaker91

Recommended Posts

I am getting this problem each time I try playing the game now. Its as if the archive invalidated stops working after about a minute or so of gameplay, all my new textures and meshes start acting up as if it was never activated. I have tried both the FOMM version and the standalone (http://newvegasnexus...le.php?id=35935) version, but for some reason it will not work.

Have anyone encountered this problem before? if so do someone have a fix for it?

sounds like you are up against UAC

did you read the frequently asked questions under FOMM

it says why.

solution is in the FAQ on one of these forums for New Vegas

there's a quick and easy way to move your steam install

Thanks for the quick response, I have yet to read the FOMM FAQ mostly because my game has worked perfectly before now. I just made a clean install of it with mods and everything, it is not installed on my OS disk it is installed in "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas". I know how to move a folder on my computer however I don't exactly know how steam wil react to me moving the game folder to another location. Is there any special way of doing this?

I read the FAQ file in the HELP section of FOMM and I desided to make every file involved in Fallout NV run as administrator (suggested in the FAQ) but for some reason I am still having the same problems, is the fault rather with some mod that is interfering or some fault in my loadorder? anyway if it will help you get to a conclusion here is some pictures of what it looks like in game:

There is a lot of stuff on this list.

Have you installed any large texture packs?

Post your system specs.

Are you using Wrye Bash and/or NV Configator?

actually I had about 30 more mods earlier but my game refused to start so I had to remove them. As for texture packs I have installed the NMC texture pack, Arenovalis Weapon retexture project, most of Hectrols Textures, Bornagain book of steel and bornagain book of flesh. I also have breeze and type 3 body and the custom race mod. I know, I know its a lot of mods and I have experimented with merging plug-in files to make the list smaller. As for thoste two programs that you post I have never heard of Wrye Bash and I have barely heard of NV Configator. If you were wondering what files I run with my game that would be: NVSE, 4GB enabler (compatible with NVSE), full screen enabler, and the New Vegas save manager. Other programs I use would be FOMM and FNV Edit.

My system Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

CPU: AMD Phenom x4 9950be (2.6 Ghz)

Chipset: AMD 790FX

Memmory: 6GB ddr2 (2x1GB, 2x2gb)(Kingston Hyperx)

Soundcard: Asus Xonar Essence STX

Graphicscard: AMD HD6870 1GB

Hope this helps

Just wanted to jump in and say:Thank you!

I've tried to get my add-on textures to show up properly for three days now!

Everything showed up ok in GECK, so I knew the problem was with ArchiveInvalidation, but I everything was set up properly, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on!

UAC, I would never have thought of that one...! :wallbash:

I did a bit of modding back in FO3, but I don't remember having this problem then, but that was a couple of years ago, so maybe I just forgot all about it.

Anyway, again, thank you! (If only I had bothered checking this forum I could have spent the last few days playing, instead of troubleshooting! :turned: )

<p>

I have tried every possible action to get it to work now, I have however found out that everything stops working when the game loads new parts of the world (going in to a building, new people walking towards you and so on). Does anyone have an answer to this or do I have to reinstall my game and try it all over again.

</p><p>PS: I relocated the steam folder to d:/games instead of d:/program files (x86), and it does not seem to fix the problem, I have also set every .exe file to run as admin so I am clueless as to what I should do to fix it.

</p><p>PPS: Actually it turns out that it wasn't UAC after all, I still get the same problem after I deactivated it on my PC. I will try uninstall mod by mod using FOMM and see if I can find the source of the problem.</p>

@Rainmaker91,

I think I am experiencing a similar error to yourself; after starting the game, the esc menu may not work, textures don't load up or change colour; large red ! appear instead of items.

I've done a bit of research and it may have to do with the number of mods running via FOMM. I may not be explaining it well but there is a link to a beth forum thread that outlines the issue well.

Thank you, the thought of this brushed my mind but I have only had problems starting the game with to many .esp files (not any in game problems). It seems Fallout New Vegas is far more fragile than I thought and apparently meshes and textures randomly stops to function if you load to many mods. anyway if anyone gets this problem just try to deactivate some esp and esm files to shorten the load order, it worked for me.

and of course a thanks to everyone of you who bothered to answer this question

and a big thanks to theobeau for finding the solution. :)
