halorocka888 Posted October 16, 2011 Share Posted October 16, 2011 I play mostly on console and more and more on PC, at least with Oblivion (Got a PC copy later because it was so cheap). I used fast travel extensively, and then on one playthrough... I made a promise to myself not to use it at all and it has worked brilliantly. prolovegirl Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 I have always found that I had the best adventures, and got a *lot* more out of the game when I didn't fast travel, and had to get there on foot. It was also far more realistic and immersing. *But*... when I'm loaded up with stuff to sell at the markets, there's a huge temptation to fast travel - all you have to do is a single click and you can sell your loot! And as soon as I use fast travel once, it became even more tempting to use it again. And again. What I really needed was a mod to prevent fast travel so I would never be tempted, it wouldn't be an option and I could put it out of my mind altogether. Not being able to travel changes the way you play the game! I didn't have such a mod, so I spoiled each game I started, sooner or later, by fast travelling. What I'd like to see in Skyrim is an *option* to block fast travel for the whole of the game. You press it once at the beginning of the game, and you can't undo it for the rest of the game - or if you *can* undo it, there's at least a reward, such as an achievement, for leaving fast travel blocked throughout the game. Sure, one can just try and resist using fast travel, but if it's turned off with a mod altogether, it's much more of a chore or burden to close the game, untick the mod, go back in the game and travel. foxkas Posted November 14, 2011 Share Posted November 14, 2011 A mod that disables fast travel, maybe add ships that you can travel with to some locations etc. Would make people discover so much more of the world.
