Adventure Writing

I was a first generation role playing gamer, that is pre D&D. Now that I am semi-relired I would love to try writing a few adventures. I love Oblivion and have decided to use this system. Unfortunately I am rather limited in my computer knowledge. (Even the language used by moders I find somewhat alien). With this in mind, can anyone point me in the right direction to proceed.

For your information: I work 2 weeks per month as a nurse, and thus am AFC (I think that is correct usage) for prolonged periods. Please do not be disheartened if I do not reply to posts promptly. (I could never get used to checking my emails more than once a week, truth be told). And I just failed trying to use the spell checker here. So please be gentle with me guys.

If you want to create a quest mod in Oblivion, you should either learn how to create mods (The difficult way) or request that someone creates it for you (The easier way).

If you want the latter then create a new topic in the Oblivion mod request forum:

From one old timer to another - here is a link to geek to English dictionary orientated to the games we support here. I haven't updated it in quite a while, but if there are any other geek words you need defined let me know. :thumbsup:

If you see any geeky words or acronyms you don't know that are not related to our games, the simplest way to find what they mean is to type them into the search line in google (or almost any search engine). Preface the word with Define:

 

Just type Define: word or phrase to be defined

Thank you for your reply. :thumbsup: I may write a story at the druid's garden. :unsure: I think that I shall learn to create mods as I would not like to inconvience others. :rolleyes: I've even learned to use emotcons in the last minute or two. (except this one :psyduck: ).

Thank you too for your kind reply. The link will be most helpful. :thumbsup: I began RPGing at the diplomacy conventions back in the 70s, and then D&D came along. GMed for years, esp RQ. Even on BBC radio Scotland for a couple of progs. I remember the first computer adventure game that I played: adventure.exe in fortran. (Yeh, did some assembly language proging back in the day, forgot it all now). I had wondered about the creation of a game whereby one player could host half a dozen or so others. Bit like the old D&D, but in oblivion. That would be cool. :dance:

BTW you were right, I did mean AFK.

Oh just looked at your library. Gosh I am behind the times. :ohdear: And I had the timerity to think of modding. :wallbash: :sweat: The very idea may be the first sign of senility, or maybe a sort of gamers' Altzeimers. Wondering of into the land of Oblivion modding with no idea where I'm going. :whistling: Did work out that CTD= crash to desktop (may have seen it before though). Never actualy been on a forum before <oops not true, was on RTR once, and Starcraft>. Much better than chat methinks. It has been a pleasure, and once again thank you. :smile:
