A body texture question from a newbie....

I love my oblivion character... but I HATE her underwear. Seriously... it's pretty much the most ugly thing EVER.

 

My question is... is there a body mod out there that changes the texture of the vanilla body to nude, or at lest less than ugly underwear, WITHOUT changing the shape of the body?

 

I don't wanna make my character an Anime character, or a silly looking barbie doll... I just want a basic re-texture of the vanilla body.

 

I have looked around, and googled stuff, and searched, but I can't find the right Mod for this... Anyone have any ideas???

I don't think you're going to find a completely nude thing without a new body. It's not a bad thing to invest in though, trust me.

 

TGND might be up your alley, it's nothing over the top and will allow for compatibility with the vast majority of released outfits.

Hrmmm... the first one has the same old ugly undies LOL :)

 

The second one looks promising though... will most of the vanilla clothing fit? Im not really interesting in a huge overhaul... I just really hate those undies!

Oh, I know... And if I wanted to do a full conversion that is the one I would likely go with.

 

Honestly, I like to keep my mods simple though... I don't really like making huge changes to the entire game :)

 

A simple re-texture of the body getting rid of those tacky undies is all I really want LOL... Nude, or just a nice set of undies would be GREAT!

If you want to keep the original body, I'd suggest doing a search for underwear retextures on a search engine (not just here). Most likely the mods you'd want are older ones that people made before the body replacers were in common use. Or, you could extract and recolor the undies yourself. Depending on what you want done to them it might be the easiest solution.

 

As for TGND body, I use it. It comes with fixes for all of the original clothes to make them work. I think Robert's does as well.

The issue I have with a body replacer is I already have a LOT of armor and clothes downloaded... Like... a LOT.

 

Most all of my mods are mods that add clothing and armor to the game, and I will pretty much loose my fave pieces with a body mod.

 

As for extracting and redoing the undies... Yea, that's not something I think I could do... Not only do I not know how, but I don't have the tools, nor the time :(

 

Im just surprised there is not a mod that makes the bra and panties poof away, or replaces it with something a little more appealing for a vanilla body :/

The trouble is, in Vanilla the underwear is part of the body. It's never a matter of retextures when it's a mesh you want to get rid of.

The several "nude retextures" for Vanilla I've come across so far all had one big annoyance in common, they gave you a skin-colored pampers instead and called it nude.

 

Additionally those body meshes were not done like several body mods with the option of a nude body in mind. If you remove the underwear in a modeling app, there'll be a big hole in the groin where it previously was, as there is no body mesh underneath.

That's likely why there's no real nude mod for Vanilla. It was too complex to do in the beginnings and once there were body mods the idea became obsolete in most people's eyes. :ermm:
