lugubriousmoron
I know there isn't a mod for this, but maybe we can pool some resources together and try making a mod that removes the Dark Vision when using a full-set of Dark Mode armor. I find it's way too distracting and basically ruins all the fun of putting a set together. I have 0 modding experience but I'm willing to do whatever I can to help someone make a fix for this. Currently I'm still looking in to Witcher 2 modding information so I can try doing this myself. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! dragonbird
Are you involved in the discussion on this over at the main Witcher forums? If you are, sorry to repeat myself :) I've got a "test mod" posted over there for people to try out. The link is here The problem so far is that I suspect the visual effects are directly linked to the bonus/curse you get from the swords themselves, and that removing one will also remove the other. With this in mind, there are a few options:a) you could simply use different swords, not the dark-mode ones. Problem solved, with no mod required.b) as above, but with texture mods so that the swords look like the Dark Mode ones. This is an easy mod, the only problem being which swords to add it to, as everyone has a different preference. It's fairly easy to do as a DIY mod.c) the mod I posted over at The Witcher (which will be uploaded here too once I've finished with it). This gets rid of most of the effects, but may also be removing the sword bonus/curse.d) as above, but with new critical effects added to the swords to offset the loss of the bonus. This may be the direction I go in, after I get confirmation on the test mod.
lugubriousmoron
Oh wow. I didn't know anyone had mad progress on this. Here I was foolishly fumbling around with the files. This is as far as I got: http://i.imgur.com/66rFp.png But it seems like you've made much more progress! Wow thank you for all your hard work man. I'd say go with option D. I'm going to install your mod now and will give you any relevant feedback. Thanks dude!
