Failed plot to kill Saudi Arabia's US Ambassador.

So basically some people from Iran worked with drug cartels to plan a assassination on the Saudi Arabia ambassador to the US. Not sure what the complete story is, but I think it was the government of Iran. This is another reason why drug cartels need to be dealt with. They have enough power to make international deals that can kill major political figures.

No reason to make drugs legal... Actually, making them legal is something cartels (and drug dealers) don't want since it would give them domestic competition and mean that they can't charge such ridiculously high prices.

Was there a typo in that somewhere? I don't understand your post p.p

Cartels would be even more up in arms if their livlihood were threatened because of some actual push to legalize. Legal drugs are something they don't want.

A drug cartel member here has nothing to do with legalizing drugs, and more to do with someone who might be experienced in smuggling things across the border or taking out a hit on someone near their territory. Bad people working together to take down a common enemy is kinda a given.

They get there profit from drug money though, if they lost a lot of profit they would go away overtime right?

I think they would make the extra effort so that their profits don't go away... That's kinda the point. Not only would any politician with a pro-legalizing campaign have problems getting votes, they would also probably be getting targeted by these groups.

As it pertains here... it still wouldn't change anything since those people would be even more willing to take to assassination plots to make up their losses.
