Goliath978
Do you...Walk when there's no reason to run?Eat regularly?Sleep every night?Behave exactly as would you IRL? Any other rules you follow in the realm of hardcore immersion?
Goliathus
I almost always walk, eat and sleep regularly. Behave as someone would in real life and I talk to the NPC's. I only travels during day and I don't change clothes in public. I don't look at my map when it's raining or snowing because that would make the map wet and risk breaking it. I only do things that the character I'm roleplaying would do and I feed my horse when I leave it at the stable. I like your name btw. :
kingdark
No, I don't do any of that. Don't see much of a point in it. KD
spiritshadowx
No, I don't do any of that. Don't see much of a point in it. KDSome people never will see the point in role playing, some do. It's related to how your imagination works. I tend to avoid all fast travel (unless i have half-minded companions such as Martin Septim, who decides to dismount his horse and stab the local daedra with a bread knife), I'll walk when i see fit, i'll regularly go home to sleep, or book a hotel and sleep. I'll eat if i have time (if not, i'll buy and eat on the go). I'll avoid combat when possible, and when avoiding combat i'll leave my armour at home. And i don't quest on weekends.
Nealus
As hardcore as possible :D
SineWaveDrox
I used to do this a little bit, but not too much anymore. The only things that I still do are walking when inside buildings (unless there is a reason to do otherwise) and avoiding fast travel.

Tobjoern
What means hard!? We (my character together with Alba - his girlfriend and companion) never used the fast travel (except for testing a mod, but then without saving this). We run mostly just outside the cities and walk slowly inside cities, buildings and ruins (at least the most of the time). We try to sleep at least for 4 hours every night. Otherwise Alba starts to grumble till we have a break. We don't sleep in someone else's beds (except we rent a room at a inn). For sleeping we have our own tent, two bedrolls and a campfire. We don't ride horses, because Alba was a slave in earlier times, and she hates any form of slavery. I try avoiding to change my equipment in battle (except weapons). We have decorated all our homes like in real life, with clothes in one cabinet, armor in an other, books and dishes in shelfs and so on... Greetings Alba and Tobjoern  Edited October 24, 2011 by Tobjoern
ffa1mf
No fast travel ever. Running, walking or riding where appropriate. Dont run inside, except perhaps inside a ruin/fort/cave/mine to exit usually sneaking/walking going in. Running too much effects endurance and subsequently fatigue and to a degree strength. No travel during inclement weather, or limited travel. If wet/cold, stats drop (fatigue, health, speed/agility, encumbrance) accordingly. Takes time to dry out and recover stats, but drying time can be sped up if a shelter is found and a bit faster again if a fire is made. Horses get stabled not just left somewhere. Stable owners are paid by the day ($5.00) or week ($25.00) for boarding the horse. Horses are used on roads/trails only. No cross country, especially not in mountainous areas or in snow/ice.The stable at the farm has a heater, blankets, hay, food and water to look after the horses. The farm yard is fenced to protect the horses from animals that may wander in.Horses also effected by bad weather (speed/strength). Dogs (companions) have kennels at the farm with food and water. Also effected by bad weather. I own a farm that covers one grid just outside Cropsford to look after horses (I have 3). I plant crops at the farm as well as trees (for fire wood). Crops are harvested and extra sent to market by boat. The profits are used to maintain the farm (purchase seeds, etc.) and to purchase some meat that cannot be obtained by hunting (ie: beef).Boats are purchased and maintained and crews paid. The profit from farm is usually in the minus, so other ventures profits are used to keep the farm going. I own a store sells items collected on quests. Profit is regulated to less than $5,000 per week. I pay a salesclerk and guard at store. Pay 10% of profits to church (as a historical thing) for the church and the poor. I own a blacksmith shop and its the only place where armour and weapons can be made that my PC can use. Repairs are possible at the blacksmith store, at the farm where forges are located and with a portable forge. Repairs require repair hammers, but they can only be used with the forges to repair weapons/armor.I have to collect ore from mines to make/repair armour and weapons. Ore must be melted and combined (ie: coal plus iron make steel) to make metals to make/repair armor/weapons.The Blacksmith works at the shop and is paid 15% of profits and lives in the shop. Profits about $200 a week, but I may have to purchase certain ores and also pay taxes. I also own an inn/restaurant/bar. I pay a cook, housekeeper and manager as well as restock from profits so it only makes a small amount, usually less than $100/week. I also pay taxes on profits and on properties. 20% taxes (on profits) to Count/County where property is located. All properties purchased (farm was $18,000.00, inn was $40,000.00 for example), and not achieved by quest or free. I do have Benirus Manor as a home, its the only one not subject to taxes which is OK as I see it as an ancestral home by right of charter which would not have been subject to taxes historically either. Purchased homes have everything inside removed (when did you buy a fully furnished house?) and items purchased and the buildings redecorated. All houses have lights and fireplaces that can be turned on/off and fires started. If I forget, the fires go out after 15 minutes and it takes wood (5 logs a tree usually gives up a max 10-12 logs) to get them going again. Lights go out after 2 hours and must be relit. Interior lights affected by time of day so inside is pretty dark when arriving at night. When I run across the poor in any place visited, I provide 5 septims to each one I see. I run mods that add more NPCs everywhere, so Anvil for example, has 6 poor/beggars rather than just the 2 vanilla ones. Run across beggars on roads as well.If I use a church to fix some attribute (have not figured out how to heal all damages yet) it costs $100.00 septims. My PC must:Sleep at least 4 hours per day or at least 8 hours in every 3 days. Generally, I try to do 8 hours per day if not on a quest.Houses have beds and PC carries a tent and sleeping bag on trips. Eat one meal and drink one canteen of water a day minimum. If eating 3 meals in a day, meals are a bit smaller and must include wine, beer, ale or mead.Food must be cooked - over campfire (when not at home) or stove (at home) and must contain a meat, cheese, bread, fruit/vegetable. Premade meals can be made up, packaged and carried if on longer quests/trips.Only raw food eaten is fruit and certain vegetables, but effect is minimal. This eat/drink requirement is difficult in new lands mods. Most do not have appropriate food or a place to get water so it all has to be carried or I have to travel back to Cyrodiil. My PC cannot wear armor all the time and must change into other clothing as appropriate, including wear for sleeping. Campfire and stove need wood (5 logs) to run and take time to cook food (30 minutes to cook meat). Campfire and cooking items carried with tent. Wood obtained from farm and carried or gathered from fallen trees in Cyrodiil. Need an axe to get wood. If PC does not eat, drink or sleep enough all stats are affected. Full cure is not possible at a church alter, recovery takes time depending on severity of lack of sleeping/eating/drinking. If in a fight and PC is hit, PC is injured and severity depends on health level. Recovery takes time, cant be cured at an alter at a church. Potions/spells only have minimal affect. Some attributes have to be cured at a church, such as those damaged by spriggen/will-o-wisp. Armor and weapons are vanilla. No magic armor or weapons. My PC must make armour/weapons to use as materials become available. Magic rings and necklace for chameleon only. Chameleon limited to 50% and only used on thieves quests. (Ever notice how many thief related mods there are?). Some attributes limited. Speed and agility particularly as PC should not be able to run faster than a horse or run backwards as fast as forwards or jump onto a roof. I have mods that add more NPCs and with more NPCs it also adds more highwaymen particularly on lonely road stretches, especially on yellow, orange and gold roads. Also more bandits on trails in the mountains. No longer one bandit, but typically 5 or 6 with a necromancer/mage. If not cleared out regularly they recruit more members as time passes. Maximum 15 members to a bandit group. Makes travel a bit exciting at times if going on a lonely road not travelled for a while. Minotaurs, trolls, land dreugh and ogres have had stats boosted instead of being easy to kill. Goblins also have stats raised. Difficulty slider is at the max. Quest markers are turned off. Quest journal is not used it only makes a noise when a quest stage is completed (so I know Ive completed something), but no popup or reading the journal. If given information on a quest, I record it in a book (in game) so I can refer to it. Caves, mines, ruins and forts are much darker and if no lights are inside it is pitch black so my PC must use torches. Torches and other lights have been tweaked so they do not give more light than is realistic (ie: a candle doesnt light up a whole big area). Ive tried to make the game as real as possible to see if it was doable and still playable. Some limitations exist, but its worked out fairly well.If a mod didnt exist that allowed me to do the above or if it didnt go far enough I either made my own or tweaked one for my own use. I should note there are 6 players that I talk with fairly frequently and we share ideas and mods that allow for immersion and more in depth role play in Oblivion.
