headbomb
Bethesda mentioned that shields can only be equipped on the left hand. While I'm not someone who would play left-handed, I think it's b-o-l-l-o-c-k-s that lefties are forgotten and un-acknowledged. This probably would involve mirror-flipping several animations (both PC and NPC reactions). Not sure how easy this would be, but it'd be a pretty awesome mod for the lefties. Going further, about 10% of people are left-handed, so someone could add left-handedness to the world by making 10% of NPCs left-handed. I'm pretty sure you can do a left hand sword and right hand shield.

BuckeyeTiba
Straight from the game manual. See: http://i.imgur.com/WzRqkh.jpgAh, good point. I'm pretty sure other lefties will be pissed about this as well and a mod will be made soon.

I love the fact that in Zelda OOT through Zelda Twilight Princess, Link was left handed. ;) I'm a lefty myself, though I don't find it too bad having to use the right handed default, but I certainly would like to have a left handed mode. Given that an RPG like this is about immersing the player into the game world, it'd really help to have a basic element such as this to be accurate. GoodfellowGoodspring
Im a lefty when it comes to writing, yet i use the mouse in my right and tend to use both for holding sport equipment etc, so im not sure what hand i would wield a shield in! I was most disappointed with not being to wield two shields in BOTH hands it would turn you into a tank! :D

Tarrax
Actually, the fact that I'm left-handed in RL is not my main gripe with the lack of left-handedness being available in Skyrim. It's mainly that in all other games, Primary Attack is Left Mouse button and Secondary Attack/Defend/Shield Block is RIght Mouse button. This is also how I played Oblivion. Having it locked the other way is very annoying. I could swap the key mapping, but then everything else would be backwards. So, although it's nice to see Bethesda doing the whole whatever is in which hand thing, I'm disappointed they then went and ruined it (for me at least) by not including such a basic thing as being able to choose your handedness. In short, I would really love to see a handedness swap Mod. Pretty please. :D Edited November 14, 2011 by Tarrax

Maybe in Tamriel it's still common for children to be forced to be right-handed? And if you're immersed into that world, you won't find any left-handed adults.
