quidyg
I'll be getting it for PS3 because I don't own a PC :( But I'm excited as hell for it nevertheless. Also, I think I've had two dreams in the past week where they announce that modding will be available to console versions of Skyrim. Two.There isn't any mods on the consoles, they are capable of allowing mods for play on the consoles, but Sony and Microsoft won't agree to allowing people to download free content. It's not that they'd want people to pay for the mods, it's that allowing player-uploaded mods would allow all kinds of malicious shenanigans to be introduced to the console networks. It not because they're greedy money-grubbing jerks, it's about security. About 3 seconds after Microsoft or Sony allowed console owners to save mods to their consoles via usb or other method outside of the approved channels, all kinds of hacker/crackers are going to upload "mods" that root your console, or allow players to cheat in unrelated games, or insert malicious code to the main network. That's why they have the stance they do. It's the smart thing for them to do. It's not fun for console player who see all the cool mods that PC players can use, but Microsoft and Sony have a bigger picture to look at. couldnt bethesda release the top pc mods for console themselves so they only allow safe mods to be downloaded
Fonger
couldnt bethesda release the top pc mods for console themselves so they only allow safe mods to be downloadedsounds like a decent idea in theory but wouldn't the distribution service charge for these mods that have to be distributed for NO-fee imagine the righteous indignation from the modding community not to mention who would be responsible for mod maintenance? Bethesda or the modding community??!!??(and bethesda is known to abandon their DLC after issue -- refer to the number of bugs introduced by DLC in Oblivion alone, not to mention the PS3 vampire cure glitch introduced by PS3 Oblivion Goty!!) Seviche
It not because they're greedy money-grubbing jerksyour full point (not quoted) is valid but is this point validA corporation is not a person and thus cannot be a jerk, Heck, the whole point of a corporation is to make money by providing a service (well, business in general), so them making money is actually their point. The people running the place can be jerks (read: Steve Jobs, R.I.P. you glorious S.O.B.), but the corporation cannot. You may not like how they provide a service, or the fact that they take money for their services (die godless commies :verymad:), but that is the whole reason for a corporation (or a business) to exist. So, yes my point is valid, especially in the context I provided. Don't take (or present) statements out of context, even to make a point; it's a bad habit to get into. Context is everything when you're trying to communicate. Taking statements out of context show you are not interested in an honest exchange of ideas. ...and yes, I understood your joke.

I could be wrong about the age, but I seriously doubt it. To put it another way; it's never the tool that's the problem. It's the hand guiding it. jedimembrain
there are a lot of reasons DLC cant work on console .. non of them are technical but all legal .. what if the mod had some adult content hidden inside that the modders settup? .. bethesda would take the blame .. what about money? .. its not free to host on the 360 marketplace .. so they wuld charge most likely .. who takes the money? .. sure a lot of these could work out if the modders would be willing to sign contracts .. but who would be willing to do this and for what? .. maybe some of the bigger mods might get hosted in the future .. like the ful convertion mods .. but 99% of the mods would never get past the paperwork required to make it to the marketplace without lawsuits at risk. Nosferatu948
At present im forced to buy it for the PS3 since i dont have a computer capable of handling Skyrim. It can barely run New Vegas on the medium settings. Definately going to pick this up for the PC when i build a better one. maybe sometime next year. malevolentraven
As already said, this is a PC & Mods site, so a poll on whether we will get it on console is kind of useless. As it is a PC site, most of the people posting on TheNexus will get it for PC only. If you want to play on console, there are sites that deal with just consoles that will have much more info on consoles. Although, IMHO, none nearly as good as this one. I disagree that it would be useless to ask that question as obviously a lot of people have said that they are getting it on a console. Also this may be a PC and Mod site but the information about the game is pretty much relevant to consoles and PC. I am a part of these forums because I like the atmosphere of this forum better than some others, and I intend to get it on the 360. As has been said before console forums tend to be full of trolls and PC forums tend to have more mature gamers. I may play on the console but I'm a mature person and I like to converse with other mature people so that is why I am here. If I had a nice PC I would get it for the PC and not the xbox, but my current computer can barely run Oblivion lol.
