WHat about a bike

Kinda. Animations on any form of action (riding a horse, shooting a bow, jumping) have one set animation. You can change this animation, but it changes things across the board. Then there is Idle animations. These are simply animations that NPC's, players, etc play through when standing still. These animations don't do anything, they are just for aesthetics. Making this bike mod work would involve changing the animations of the horse to fit your needs. The problem is, when you do this it changes the animations for ALL horse riders, which means NPC's will be on horses, looking like they're on bikes.

 

Besides the fact that you would need to find someone who can create your bike, then animate it, then animate you, this mod wouldn't really be to great. You'd still ride your bike in the same fashion you ride your horse, your bike would still attack mud crabs, it would still wander around when you aren't on it. Its just a bike shaped horse.

Actually, the animations really aren't an issue here, provided you can have someone to make a bike that is animated while moving, and can create an idle that has the player moving the pedals. Mounted animations are just idles, and those can be changed and configured to only work for the player, or only when an NPC is mounted on the bike. Granted, you may still have a heck of a time getting the animations in sync, and it may look rediculous, and it may take way too much time and effort to make it worth while, but atleast it doesn't have the problems of something like dual wielding or riding in a carriage. The good thing is that there are certain standards of timing used for running/walking animations which could theoretically be used in conjunction with scripting to get the pedal timing right. (if two animations start at the same time and run for the same time, their actions will be in sync). Although if you just have the person't feet moving around in a circle where the pedals would be (without there being any pedals) it might be just as well.

Well, that's the thing, it wouldn't be a horse, it would still be a creature, but could be made so that it doesn't do any of those things. Creatures can be made to stay put, never fight back, never get attacked, and be impervious to any damage. The downside however is that while you're on the bike, you are too (unless you use some creative scripting (which you'll need to do anyway to get the idles working).

 

No, there really aren't any major technical problems related with this mod. It would however take a stupid amount of work and effort to get it done (even half-assed), and the result probably wouldn't be worth it. Even if you did find someone capable of making a mod like this work, their time would probably be better off spent counting the holes in the ceiling tile where they work. Or they could be putting their ability into making creatures that would make the game a hell of alot more interesting. Here we are 2 years after release, and there aren't really any fish other than slaughterfish. Fish, sharks, whales aren't something too complicated, and would add alot to an area which is currently missing.

I think he was refering to a motorbike, but the same problems are there (with the exception of pedalling). My point still stands, it will ride like a horse even if you change the animations, so you are still getting a bike shaped horse.

i was talking about either and i didn't know that much. Though i do think it would be funny to have the bike attack things. It would though be a lot of work for something kind of pointless. just think about guards in the woods with all their armor riding a ten speed

There already is a motorcycle mod, it’s a Honda NR500, I got it somewhere & love it.

It gives you a low speed (fast) & high speed (super fast) bike.

The funny thing is it still will defend it’s self, it’s hilarious to watch a bandit get attached by a motorcycle.

It's called Regard_HONDA_NR500 but I don't remimber where I found it, I'll look.

 

Couldn't find it on the web, I guess it would be OK to upload if anyone is intrested in it.
