Vagrant0
i have a question do i need the primmison from another modder if im using part of their mod or just put them in the credits, because the author of the mod i want to use hasn't logged on sence 2006 and i high doubt he or she is going to log on any time soon this question is mainly directed for this sites staff but anyone can comment (anyone PLZ comment)Alot of it depends on what the mod is, what of it you intend to use, how do you intend to use it, and what the author said, if anything. As long as credit is properly given, it usually isn't an issue, but some people can be real fussy, especially when it's stuff like sounds, meshes, textures, or large parts of their mod. Also keep in mind, just because they aren't around here doesn't mean that they aren't still active somewhere else. Modders tend to go where modded games are, and usually stick to roughly the same handle. Some modders may even prefer to use other forums. If you provided more information, we could probably tell you more.
Sypron
Or try for an email address, they're rather reliable. Also, could you tell us what you want to include in your mod that you are copying?
SimpleGlitch
i need some of his textures for a ayleid race mod i've been working on. they're going to look like the normal high elves, but with tribal tattoo to make them look more like a anchant civilization. the will also have higer stats and such. the tattoos are form bzz24's tribal tattoo II but he hasn't logged in to tesnexus for along time and it dosn't say his email address any where. herosinger
Well, it seems that bazz24 has not provided an e-mail address, nor has he visited the official forums anytime recently. You may be out of luck on this one. Still, you should try sending him a PM.
Vagrant0
I would say to check the official forums (and anywhere else that mod has been uploaded) for anyone by that name, or associated with the mod. If you can't find anyone, send them a PM here, give them credit for the textures, and call it a mod. If he does come back complaining about it, atleast you can say that you made every attempt to contact them, and had still given them proper credit for just one minor aspect of your mod. As long as you aren't basing your mod solely on someone elses work (IE: this mod is just a standard race with a different texture, no new abilities, no new description, no different stats. Or if the mod with the texture is essentially the same as what you're doing, just changing names and a few minor details), there shouldn't be any real problem. Basically, in addition to giving credit, your mod has to be fundimentally different from the other mod.
